177 RTI Prophet 2 help.

Just received my 177 Prophet 2 today from Talon Tunes. Thx Tony! Came with the reg set at 150 bar. At that setting will push a 13gr JSB to only 850fps and a 10gr to 915fps. I increased the reg to 170bar and only 885ish with a 13gr ZAN. Seems not alot of speed with such a high reg pressure. Is this normal? I purchased this rifle to shoot 177 slugs as the new valve was supposed to put out big power with lower reg pressures. The Priest 2 I had would easily push a 13gr slug into the mid 900's with a lower reg pressure. Not sure if there's a problem with the gun or this is normal??? Any info would help.

I don’t own a Prophet 2, but I thought the point of the balanced valve in the P2 was supposed to enable big power from lower reg pressures…

I do own two Prophet Performance V1s. I’m currently shooting the 510mm LW .177 barrel in one of them. With the reg at only 80-85 bar, I could not get velocity of JSB 10.3g BELOW 915 fps! So, I cut the hammer spring from 2.6” down to 2.4” - now I can get velocities from the low 800’s on up to 900+ with the reg set at 90 bar.

With that info, it would seem your Prophet 2 should be making more power at the huge reg settings you are using. Perhaps too much reg pressure? Try lowering your reg to 110-120 bar to see if it INCREASES power…?

Might want to lower reg pressure back to 100b and turn in the hammer spring..

I swap barrels between a 25 and 177.. (originally bought as a 25) to get the 177 to tweek in I had to remove the aluminum hammer spring spacer. Then with the reg set at 100 bar-ish I had a good amount of adjustment.. I could go as low as 500fps and as high as 1014fps with 10.3gr knockout slugs. It grouped best at 930 or 990... Nothing in-between..
Pellets group well for me from 800-880.. anything faster groups opened up..
This is a prophet 1..

youll have all the power you want now, tune it with hammer valve once you set reg pressure. get it to just fire slower speeds work your way up till enough pressure to open that assisted valve. i bet 85 bar will be more than enough.id sure throw on some sehkment 25 mm gauges the good one's tony sells not the cheap ones that only read pressure.
