Pulled to the right, I'd bet excited, not that I've ever been there. Not sure about under, I'd say more to the gut area. Going to be long and slow bleed out. Been there tooMost of those shots went under it after the first shot. Never saw much use in full auto pellet rifles.
yes ..i got spoiled by possums which go lower when theyre hit .. these coons are like cats and go up when hitI suspect he's dead. First 2-3 were in the chest. Too bad you didn't start a little higher and have him jump into the stream.
i think im going to switch to the bulldog for awhile ..i didnt feel like the .22 was enough ..im sure a headshot would kill it, but ive learned not to trust a headshot on larger stuff, very hard to get good placement in the heat of the moment, it has to be perfect, so a vitals shot is more sure .. and we need deeper penetration than the .22 is offering on a critter this big ..They are tough animals so always try for head or heart/lung shots otherwise they suffer
.177 is impressive .. you must be pushing them at some serious fpe ..Probably fatal after some time. The last two I took were with a .177 D48 at around 30 yards. Both perfect flank shots from a slight up angle through the ear into the brain. Instant lights out. Coons are tough though, and waiting for the perfect shot, if it even happens, can take a fair amount of time.
you know, its not that its useful per-se .. its the pure satisfaction of watching the pos that ripped your beloved pets apart die in a hail storm of lead hahaha ... the 'only' reason its on full auto, its judgement day for said pos lol .. that said 'if' you can direct a full auto burst into something on target, it does tend to shut them down on the spot ..Finally i see a possible use for a full auto .
interesting Video Thanks
I used Seneca 16.1 gr domed hunting pellets for both. Out of my D48 I'm getting around 720 fps with 18.5 fpe. It was around dusk, perfect amount of down angle and a straight on 90 degree flank shot. Anything other than that, I wouldn't have attempted the shot with .177. My 48 has since been relegated to the squirrel role, as I recently bought a Diana 350 Magnum in .22 for coons..177 is impressive .. you must be pushing them at some serious fpe ..
yes .. no doubt he got hit a few times but fatally, i dont know .. a fhorough search this morning turned up no body ...but .. the rest of the food i put out in the bowl was gone .. hes got some friends that are going to meet mr .35 tonight ...looked low to me.
I agree with you. I don't think the .22 Blitz has enough juice to seal the deal. You won't have that question with the Bulldog! Even bodyshots with Polymags will put it face down into the dirt.i think im going to switch to the bulldog for awhile ..i didnt feel like the .22 was enough ..im sure a headshot would kill it, but ive learned not to trust a headshot on larger stuff, very hard to get good placement in the heat of the moment, it has to be perfect, so a vitals shot is more sure .. and we need deeper penetration than the .22 is offering on a critter this big ..
I stand corrected, I was able to watch at .25 speed and I believe several rounds hit the vitals. If a gun was to my head, my best guess is it dropped and died anywhere from 75-200 feet away would be my best guess- assuming the rounds penetrated the vitals. 22 is light. Especially full auto. Great video demonstration though!should have waited for a cleaner shot ..what do you think? fatally hit or no? looking at it in slomo im pretty sure he caught a couple right up the wazoo haha
