Curious of those Huben slugs work in the GK one. I cast and shoot those BBT slugs although I have been shooting the 41 grain through the GK1 more than the 50.
when sized to .252 with the MP sizer they are a perfect fit for the mag. but i have just shot one mag for testing 'the feel', without any measures and only with a red dot on 15-20m distance with a stock, seemed similar than my results with other projectiles, but i will make better tests in the future. for me this is good enough already, i like the heavy smack they provide.

the HP BBT ones i have not tested yet. and i have not cast them with out the HP pin, but for now only with the shallow and the deep HP.

Great first casting. This mold, along with the peanut, is a little difficult to get used to. I tend to hold all handles together, but started experiencing lead outlines of the cast like one specimen in your photo. I found that holding the bottom two handles is best, as the sprue plate handle can lay on top of the mold. otherwise, if I hold all three the mold will not completely close. You might want to get the peanut mold as well, as I've been consistently told by customers that the peanut is more accurate. However, one customer loves the 2 ring round nose you are casting due to it's knockdown power. The NOE molds have always made great casts in my experience.

hi @sonnysan,
thanks for the comment and tip.
yes, i am aware of the 'finned' projectile, i realized too late that there was tiny lead splinter in between the molds sealing surface and so the whole lot of 8 slugs were lost. i later sorted them out, but wanted to show my true results.
i've not been aware of the peanut mold being available. from where did you get it? or do you mean the MP molds vers.2, that looks like the swaged 'HUBEN PEANUT'?
when i asked about this from Gregor Kamenšek in regard of the K1, the response was:
"Peanuts are not casted and are therefore more accurately produced than MP molds. For the chinese barrel, V3 casted are best but Peanuts are even better. For LW barrel Peanuts and V2 mold is probably best"

I mean the MP molds "peanut". I know the commercial product is different:

I'm attempting to replicate a cast peanut's accuracy through a customer by providing three different diameters of the same slug. It's worth it to perform the exercise, as I don't have any oversized bores to test them in (yet).

Wow great job on first time casting!!!! Hollow points can be tough....I missed a few key details when i started casting..took me a lil bit to figure it out...Give powder coating a try....its pretty easy...it helps with leading for sure...
thanks, i've been trying to inform myself about casting routines and what to watch out for and also what causes what problems, so it was too much of an trial and error process for myself. with the hollowpoints i was actually quite surprized that they dropped so easy. i was expecting worse.

for now i have mostly used lead from recycled projectiles, so the amounts are not that much at this point. i feel powder coating makes more sense when doing it for bigger quantities, so maybe at a later point, when i make a huge batch of ammo. but thanks for the hint.
