2 cylinder tuxing 4500 psi compressor PRV

I was curious about the gk1. Does it want oversized ammo as ive read going around here?
I haven't noticed yet I've only shot 4 mags so far at very close range (in garage due to rain). What do you mean oversized? Weight, diameter or length?

I'm using the stuff I buy for my FX Revolution, JSB EXACT JUMBO DIABLO 15.89 grain. I made a truing press (made up term) to run the pellets through for my FX due to one of the first shipments of JSBs had bunch of bent up skirts on them so I had to reshape them and I made them a little wider to fit more snug and make a better seal.

I happened to have a #1 or #2 drill blank that I reshaped the tip on to be a nice fit behind a JSB pellet. Then with the actual drill bit, drilled a hole through a brass plug , dropped pellet in head first then tap it with the reshaped drill blank a few times and that made them fit nice.

Iirc when I was looking for a pistol I was reading that they tend to like ammo of a larger than typical diameter.

I don't own one so I hate to worry you with message board conjecture. If its shooting standard stuff accurately, it's still on the list once the fx pistol comes out and I can compare the two.

You're 30% there to your own swaging mold, 😁

I've been loading it with muzzle down and nothing falls out.

So what kind of truck did you build? I used to have a '48 Chevy 5 window pickup I got as payment for a plumbing side job i did for a friend of a friend. It was a blockormore and needed some tlc but ran strong after I rebuilt the carb. It had 3 on the tree and that old straight 6 stove bolt 236 ci engine

I ended up trading for a 76 fj40 Land Cruiser that I still have rusting away in my driveway LOL

Bottles are all Tuxing 300 bar. Both compressors are rated for that. The Gx4 is rated at 5800psi. IMG_1599.jpeg

Wtf happened to my other reply? My back button is just lethal on this site. Anyway, I saw these today on ebay. They're kind of interesting:

If they really have that many to move, maybe they'll make two for one deals or something. I'd like to top one off at six grand with my 4500 PSI compressor for the same reason you did. Just to do it LOL

Crap. I almost did it again. I almost hit that back button

I swear if I thought I would be in this for a decade or more it would be tempting ! ! After filling to 5k with the Tux slowly top to 6 k with the Gx in stages. Haa 50 liters , Naa …. I like playing with the compressors too. Just put second radiator on the

Yea. I know what you mean. I like pushing the envelope a little but I really like when I figure out a simple yet impactful hack. But then I don't know what to do with it. I wish I could download it the way I see it so everyone will understand it from that perspective, without all the back n forth over and over and I end up feeling like I have to defend myself for thinking.

On the other hand, a lot of my hacks require an egg or two to break when most of us are all about displaying our eggs . I know I'm guilty of that. It's hard for me yo to make that first cut on a new tool in order to make it a better tool. I try to modify without making permanent sacrifices until I'm totally positive about my decision and I know my options won't change. Then I put the whole thing on a back burner and move onto something else while that back burner goes out and gets cold..

Like my repipe I was going to do on my compressor. I spent a couple days figuring out which fittings and what kind of tubing and where to route and to incorporate the cooling water lines to maximize the cooling effort and blah, blah, blah ...to the back burner it all went until last week when I thought about adjusting the PRV. ..Now I'm thinking about making an oil cooler.

I'm thinking about tapping that cover low and high and coming out the bottom to an inline electric pump, into the cooling water reservoir, coil coil coil back out of the cooling water and into the top of the crank case cover. Keeping it a closed loop system, but my cooling water will stay an open system. It's too easy to cool with an open system.

I added two 3 prong outlets on the side where my electricity hooks up. I used those little modular ones that you see on the back of stereo components. But I wish I would have made them switched Outlets instead of live when the compressor is live I plug both aquarium pumps into them. I have one for each head. I have a third one to circulate water over a cooling tower that I made but it works just as good if I drop the two coming from the head up high and let the water falling. The falling down cools It Off I think better than the radiator. Also I squirt some surfactant in with the water to break its surface tension a little bit. It's from a company called liquid Harvest. It's made for use with herbicides to make the water wetter so the herbicide penetrates the leaves better

I don't know if you read my comment about brake line protector being used as a heat sink. I think that would work for the oil cooler line also

I work on several, mine is a 70 long bed chevy c10 with a 307 I spiced up a bit that I tried to buy for 23 years and finally got it. I just need to air bag it so i can drive stock and park low and build a fresh engine with more powa. My employer has a project 74 fj40 that I was supposed to help with but finding a viable transfer case to use a 700r4 with stock axles and clearing a small block is proving to be more than he wants to spend.

My truck came around right after I bought. An impact m3 🤣 let's just have zero money. Tube headers or impact jewelry?

After killing a high pressure head from a water pump failure., ordered a temp cut off for unattended filling.
I bought vinyl tube and a timer and some brass fittings for my garden hose and ran a continuous stream thru my water cooled compressor when I had it. Just watered the flower bed when it was on. The it started passing oil and I gave it away.

I've actually got three fj40s. A 69, 73 and a 76. The 69 is all original and a complete rust bucket. It was a hunting rig most of its life. It's been punished here in California we have the strict smog laws but vehicles that are from 75 and older are exempt. The 76 is also all original and complete but it doesn't pass smog.. I had an idea of registering it as the 69 and then chopping up the 69 and selling it's parts.

The 73 is really just fj40 body parts. It's got a small block 350, hydramatic AT, Dana 300 transfer case with a twin stick kit so I can run in just front wheel drive on those rare occasions when I needed just front wheel drive Saginaw power steering , Dana 44s front and rear with ARB lockers. Spring over suspension with shackle reverse, front disc brakes, full roll cage welded to the frame all riding on 36" Goodyear Wranglers. It's a beast man. it'll climb trees

Why I have no radiator , and just use a 10 gal tank with purple ice. Highest temp reached filling a 6.8 was 119.

I'm ca too

Why do you have 2? ..is the second one because of the few design changes they added? Like the closed loop cooling system and the pre air drier and the coiled air line from compressor head to filter tower (I like that one the best)

I use synthetic Amsoil in mine. It's been working fine. Maybe an oil cooler might not be a bad modification down the road.
I upgraded the water pump and have one for each head. They pump more GPM but more importantly, they have higher head pressure rating, so I can pump the water to a higher elevation after it leaves the head. This way, it can be pumped into a camping shower head and rain back down into the open holding tank. This cools the water down significantly. I haven't done any testing, but it seems to work as good as when I had it trickling down a cooling tower I made from the guts of a wall radiator (for heating).

I took your list of concerns into consideration before I decided to up my pressure on my PRV. I'm pretty sure I covered them all in my various replies to the same concerns posted by others. The only time HPA is an explosive hazard that would cause bodily injury is when a high enough volume of it is able to be released through the right passage, one that the compressed air would cause to instantly expand in a way to be considered explosive. That would be in a tank. These compressors don't have tanks. I'm not advocating to anyone that they should overfill any tanks, bottles or cylinders.

I got mine in 2021 or maybe 22. It's served me well and has way outlasted my Yong Heng compressor. When I got it, I thought it would be the last compressor I would ever need, pressure and volume wise, although I knew it wasn't going to last forever.

Being that it's rated for 4500 PSI, I know it's passed a pressure test of no less than 6750 (1½ x 4500) PSI. I also noticed how much the prices of these compressors has drastically been reduced. A stripped down compressor can be had for under $250. Any part that's going to wear out due to the added 500 PSI will be included. The tank I'll be filling to 5000 PSI is designed to handle that much pressure and has been tested to at least 7500 PSI. There's no way they'd be allowed to sell these things if they are on the verge of failure right out of the box, nor would they be so popular if they did.

As for any warranty goes, mine's been out of warranty for a long time, but even if it was still under warranty, good luck to anybody trying to cash in on it. I think the closest thing you get to a real warranty on this thing is if you bought it from Amazon. You get that one month to return it. Unless you get it between October and December then you'll get to the end of January if you say it was a Christmas gift.

So all things considered, for me, the reward outweighs any risk. As of today, I can burn up four of these compressors before I'm at the price of a 7,000 psi compressor and who knows how long they're going to last.
I like the idea of the shower head; I'll have to get one. I have 2 Tuxing's because I alternate them, every 2 months this way it gives me time to service one and I have a backup. Nothing worse than not having a running compressor, lol
