2 piece scope mounts w/ stop pin on one.... Available???

Try 2 piece on the HW50 without the stop pin. I seriously doubt you'll need it. And you won't unnecessarily risk that funky gack mark they tend to leave. Lol! if they slip move em back up and tighten em a little more. Or just install the "hack em up" screw.
I'm picky. You don't see any hack, gack, or wack marks on any of my guns. Unless I bought them that way and I usually won't.
97's are pretty heavy. Do scopes even slip on those. I have a Mk1 77k and didn't have a problem.
Does your scope slip or do you just worry about scope slip?

Awhile back somebody made the suggestion to put a piece of plastic in the scope ring pin hole to prevent any gouging of the metal.

I have made a brass filler bushing (from a brass screw). Turn it to fill the receiver hole exactly on a sanding machine. Then tighten the scope ring without the stop pin down yet right over the brass filler piece. Then tighten down the stop pin on the brass near center to mark the brass. Remove the bushing and drill the hole. Any manipulation from the pin ends up on the brass. Keeps the receiver perfect.

Here's my debacle: I have a quality one piece mount on the HW97, but it's too long for my 2x7 scope (see pic where it's clamped on the tapered part of scope). I love this scope, but my choice is to put 2 piece mounts on the 97, or buy a longer scope for it, and put the 2x7 on the HW50. My options are somewhat open in that I currently only own one scope.

Hawkes can be short for most one piece mounts. Thats why you look up at the Scopes specs from the manufacturer then the one piece mounts specs to insure the tube fits and the height so the Scopes used its belly or that little plug dont bottom out or the lens bell hits .. dont feel like the lone ranger..

Example of scope spec and whatever 1 piece mount you choose it MUST NOT be wider than the tube width which is 124 mm, 4.9" on this scope. 2 piece scope mount are much more versatile and easy to adjust, IMHO.
