I posted this on our THAGC website forum but wanted to also put it on the other forums as well.
I wanted to say a heartfelt Thank You to The organizers of the Nationals....
Scott Allen, Chris Berry, Will Piatt, Stacy Berry, Joe Magarelli, and anyone else I did not include that worked on this. You did one hell of a job in my opinion. After the horrible conditions for shooting on Saturday how you were able to get the tally's form the red paper machete glob is amazing Scott/Stacy...I know you must have been up half the night pouring over those figures. All in all I think is really went well and is a testament to good planning and work. There we very few cold lanes called and I don't remember hearing any protests being lodged, other then some shooters complaining about the rain and how hard the Troyer 40 course was. Boo Hoo! Uh, we all were shooting the same lanes folks..
I had a blast. Being a damn Yankee and a avid outdoor hunter and ocean fisherman, I was prepared with rubber boots...(Duh) Even though my bright white boat/fishing boots did garner some remarks. But in the end several folks had to go buy boots after Sat. Hey Chris Corey, NA NA NA NA NA!
Seriously I enjoyed speaking to some of the best FT shooters in the country and world competitors Like Ray Appelles and others. Only having 5 local matches under my belt and buying my 1st pcp in Feb of this year, I now have a National match to my credit. Even if I was only in the upper 42% of my class, position 13, at least I accomplished my goal of not being at the bottom. Man it was fun hobnobbing with the top competitors. I gleaned a lot of knowledge there. Oh and I gave my squad mate a method I use to shoot off hand and kneeling after getting 3's on both lanes. Then he clears the kneeling lane rt after. (I guess I should have told him after the lanes as he bet my total score by 1 point, you"re welcome Andrew).lol
A special thank you goes out to the Piatts. Will and Ginger, for the use of their gorgeous property and the work assoc with the setup, maintenance, and clean up after all of us. And to Ammon for trouncing the competition and winning the top spot in Hunter PCP. Ginger I did miss your homemade chocolate goodies)
The experience at that competition level and the great personalities of the THAGC members, really furthers my obsession for the sport. After an issue with my Daystate electronics Sunday, I will be in the market for a new FT rifle, (more $$), so I guess I won't thank my friend Jimmy Fussel for getting me into this this addictive pastime....lol I did miss my buddy being there, but I did get you some stickers Jimmy....! Wow huh?
The Nationals are being held in Michigan in 2016 and I hope to possibly make it there. Meantime we can practice at Chris's house until then. Hey Chris, how about making a Troyer 40 at the THAGC matches to get us prepared for Michigan?
It would be nice to see how other members felt about this years Nationals and their experiences good or bad here on this post! Don't be shy!!
Lastly I want to thank all the great folks I met and those who I shot with Charles Garvey and Vince Sempronio on day 1 and Phil (The Flag) Eakley and Andrew Burns day 2.
