2015 TENNESSEE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPSAfter enjoying warm weather in the high 70's earlier in the weekend it was extremely disappointing to get the forecast of a big drop in temperature, and eighty percent chance of rain, and I envisioned a carbon copy of the weather we had for the US Nationals in Ennice the previous month. Luckily the rain stopped early in the morning before most shooters arrived, leaving us to contend with cold temperatures and gray skies. In spite of that we had twenty three determined and at the end of the day, cold shooters. This year, Brad Troyer masterminded the course, and if there was no wind it would have been a 34.7T resulted in a number of shoot-offs, but we were spared that due to the high winds, making it a 40+ T, well, that and a couple of purely evil targets, LOL. The end result saw Doug Vinson win the top score for the fourth year in a row, way to go Doug! I would like to deeply thank Brad for coming out and set the course, with a little help from me on Friday, Dottie for her wonderful food, and David Jnr. for helping out, and to everyone that made it out, and also to those that came back out after lunch and helped tear down. We had shooters come from Ohio, Virginia and California, a long way to come to freeze! I should bring your attention to David Brown, who despite the strong winds, brought out his Diana 75 10M match rifle, shooting 6 ft lbs, and even in the strong winds, scored a very credible 23 ex 60! look out, he has a NEW rifle he is going to shoot next season, so look out! Once again a great end to the 2015 season here, hope to see you guys next season!
