2021 April 11 Sunday FT Match Report
Temperature: 48 degrees F
Wind: 10-15 mph
Overcast and windy conditions
10 lanes, 30 targets, 2 shots/target = 60 shots/points total
15-55 yards, mix of ½", 1", 1-1/2" and 40mm kill zones.
Average distance: 37.8 yards, Average KZ size: 1.25", Course Difficulty: 32.6T with no wind factor
For this match, Chas D designed the difficulty, selected the distances and the reducers. Ron D and I laid out the course on Saturday afternoon placing the target bases and clamps 10 field targets to their bases 9 of which had ½" and 1” reducers. On Sunday early morning, I helped Chas out clamp the rest of the 20 field targets to their concrete block bases and attach and roll out the strings to the shooting lanes. John E, Brian V and Alan E joined in helping setup the course and practice area. Around 9 am, we began sight-in practice and by 9:30 am, we started shooting the match.
We followed the same course layout that Ron D did the last match in March and dividing the lanes into 3 groups. Lanes 1-3 were next to his house. Lanes 4-7 were in the middle and lanes 8-10 were next to the stone wall. The practice area was between lanes 7 and 8.
Thankfully, there was no rain. After a brief, practice session, we all took a lane and started shooting. The wind was blowing from behind quartering slightly left to right.
Congrats to both Chas and Brian shooting an excellent score of 57 out of 60. For a tie breaker, I use results of the positional lanes. I would give to match Chas since he only missed two positional shots (1 kneeling and 1 standing) while Brian missed 3 standing shots.
Thanks to all that attended again and helped cleaning up ending at 1 pm.
