Remarks:

We had 20 people attend the CT State match. We had shooters coming from CT, NJ, NY, NH and MA.

It was a perfect day to shoot our last official match at Rockville. The day was clear, sunny and cool fall weather. Leaves were falling with the shifting wind while we were knocking down targets left and right.

This field target match had 5 one-inch reducers and the rest were full-sized kill zones. The course was rated moderate via AAFTA’s course planner.

We used the police range for practice. At 10:00 am, we ended the practice session and had a shooter’s safety meeting. We paired up novice shooters with experienced shooters and sent them to their assigned lanes. We had the typical one standing and one kneeling lane. We had one cold line with the string getting tangled. We had people shoot targets from near to far.

We had several lanes intersect other lanes at the far targets.

When the last person took their final shot, we started cleaning up the course. With the help of all the shooters, it took several minutes to gather up the field targets, clamps, and strings.

We had ordered plenty pizza for the shooters. After having filled our bellies, we had some giveaway items for the lowest scoring shooters to take home. After that was done, we handed out the medals and 1st place got the dragon face plates to the four classes represented.

Chas almost cleaned the course with a 59 out of 60. I think I need to make more difficult next year. Excellent shooting!

All together It was a beautiful day to shoot field target at Rockville. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing our regular attendees and new ones as well. We hope to do this again next year.
