2021 July 24 Saturday FT Match Report
Temperature: 70-86 degrees F
Wind: 0-4 mph
Sunny with very light winds but lots of mirage
10 lanes, 30 targets, 2 shots/target = 60 shots/points total
16-55 yards, mix of 35mm, 1-1/2" and 40mm kill zones.
Average distance: 37.1 yards, Average KZ size: 1.52”, Course Difficulty: 27.32T with no wind factor
For this match, Ron D laid out the course by dropping the concrete bases where he wanted them and then measured them afterwards. The targets for the positional lanes got 35mm KZ Flop Over targets and the rest were 1 ½" or 40mm KZ targets. For the last target on lane 10, we placed Paul’s Custom target sasquatch with 1 ½" KZ.
Again, I would like to thank Paul Porch and the anonymous donor who donated the Sasquatch target to our club.
At 9:30 am after shooting practice, we paired up to shoot the course. The morning session ended at 12:30 pm. I bought 3 large pizzas for lunch for the shooters who attended. The afternoon session had Chas D and Brian V shoot the course.
We had a couple of new shooters to Ron’s match – Jay and Bernie. Two were local to CT. They were welcome to shoot and enjoy the day of shooting.
Brian V shot both in the morning and afternoon. He shot match high of 58 and second highest score of 57 with another rifle. Well, done!
Matt B shot incredibly well for the Piston Class with a score of 56.
We have one spectator Jim from Norwich that wanted to see what field target was all about and determined later that he wants to get a PCP air rifle.
Thanks for Ron for hosting the match. Thanks to all that attended. A special thanks to Chas and Brian who helped clean up at the end. We were done and left by 3:15 pm.
