In support of my years-long dream of Extreme Field Target competition that is now becoming Reality, I’m happy to announce the 2021 Republic of Texas TEXtreme Field Target Championships weekend. To capitalize on the return of Daylight Savings Time and in hopes of winning the weather lottery, TEXtreme Field Target will be March 19-21, 2021.
Besides an Extreme FT match adhering to the spirit of the game and most rules being utilized in Arizona, there will be other matches as well. Almost already decided is (also) a field target match shot at usual FT ranges to 55 yards awarding the TEXtreme Pistol Field Target Champion; however rifles under 20 foot pounds can also shoot that match for no awards or prizes. In other words, one match for the pistol championship, that also doubles as a rifle fun match. This will allow non-pistoleros an opportunity to shoot a low rifle difficulty match; be it just for practice, to practice forced positions, or to shoot a less serious rifle just for fun.
Pistol shooters will find the pistol FT match amply extreme, given the distances involved and the fact you’ll need enough projectile energy to fell heavy extreme field targets! Yeah, I know… SICK!
Another likely match is a Bench-Rest Silhouette competition, as held monthly at the Ranchito Robinson venue. Attached at the bottom of this post is a flier with Bench-Rest Silhouette details; NOT to be confused with rules for the TEXtreme Field Target match shamelessly plagiarized and attached here (so sue me)-
Deviations from these rules include- 1) There will be NO SLUGS allowed (or slug class). 2) Besides a 100 Foot Pound (maximum) class there will also be a 35 Foot Pound (maximum) class. And, 3) Bum bags are allowed (stools or buckets are not mandatory).
Depending on response, the Match Director reserves the right to limit entrants in any given match. Nature of the venue, that will likely be the case in the Bench-Rest Silhouette match; much less likely in the FT matches.
There will be awards in every match for each class except Fun Rifle (in the Pistol FT match).
Feel free to call or email Ron Robinson for more details, or questions not answered in the attached rules.
