2023 October 8 Sunday FT Match Report
Temperature: 50-70 degrees F
Wind: 5-10 mph, Sunny with variable shifting strong winds
10 lanes, 30 targets, 2 shots/target = 60 shots/points total shot near to far
19-55 yards, mix of 1-1/2" and 40mm kill zones.
Average distance: 37.5 yards, Average KZ size: 1 1/2", Course Difficulty: 34.28T with wind factor
Before doing the mandatory shooter’s meeting, we presented Ron with $500 cash gathered from the Special Dumonator FT match held at Rockville Fish & Game. Also, Ron was given two metal plaques custom cut by Paul Custom Targets and painted by Cindy M. One was the Lebanon Fire Department Shield and a side profile fireman’s helmet with Mike Dumond and years spanning his life.
Ron had some help setting up on Saturday from Bernie D, Scott V, Leo G, Pete S & Alan E. We had the usual sunshine and the associated high winds and mirage. We were again surprised by the number of people (26 total) attending the match. We started at 10 am and the last squad finished around 1 pm. We had two minor cold lines early on and it was smooth sailing afterwards.
It was the most attended match at Ron’s place this year and parking became a very tricky affair.
Shooting in the wind was tough. John E proved that it can be conquered with his match high score.
We had a vulture circling overhead during the match waiting to feed on something below.
Thanks to all that attended and helped clean up the course within 10 minutes.
