Only 3 Open shooters. At Nationals.

Likely have a few more stragglers sign up to shoot in the class but ...Yep. Yep. And YEP!!!

Got 6x more PISTON shooters, of all things, than Open class shooters. That's saying something right that there.

Surprisingly, I hadn't signed up. Now I am. You can add another wftf piston shooter.

Frank. We are springer heavy in the Northeast. I used to shoot wftf pcp but there was no one else in my class. With my return to wftf I decided springer. It helps to have three of the top springer shooters around as well. I get an accelerated timeline of techniques and fixes to get me up to speed.

As for open class, next year's participation will be back to 5-7 shooters at Nationals. Hosting Worlds rearranged classes considerably this year.

many people I spoke to cited costs associated with the Nationals being close to a major metropolitan area.
long drives and the fact that the worlds will be here in a months' times did not help budgets and PTO
Myself and many others I know concur on this fact. The location is so far from even Ohio that the time and cost is far too great for what it is. There's a fair number of shooters in Ohio too, very few of which are going. Each other may have other reason but I know cost and travel time are a big one.

What $850 a night too expensive for a room?😂😂 I almost chit my pants seeing how expensive they were

I bit the bullet and begged funds from my CFO to attend the Nationals.

Airline ticket, accommodations and car rental are around $1200 total. Attending these big shoots are starting to favor the elite few.

Be nice if some can team up and share costs. With my BO and snoring...that might be a tough sell.

Then there's the world in Arizona in November...oh boy.

Just a tad. Just not worth it to shoot FT. NO money prize pay back so Ill stick close to home and shoot whatever is around here. I can buy a lot of pellets or another rifle for the cost to attend an out of state GP.

Shooting FT at places other than your home club or a nearby one is just expensive. Other shooters travel to Ohio from far away to shoot the Pyramyd Cup or one of the GPs, so I don’t think it’s about the Nats being in Massachusetts. You can fly to the Nats from Ohio for the same cost as I do from Texas.
If you cannot afford to travel to the Nats, that is fine, but location has nothing to do with it.

I’m staying about 25 mins north in Andover for $160 per night. About the same as a lot of other places. Airfare wasn’t bad from DFW. It’s about $1000 for the whole trip.
This is from a notorious hotel snob. Jeff spending $160 for a hotel is the equivalent of me sleeping in the Walmart parking lot.
I hope everyone has a great time this weekend. For a National Championship field, I think quality matters more than quantity. And this match has a lot of quality.

It's going to be a busy weekend for me. I have to find time to skip the FT Nationals AND the PRS Rimfire Nationals. I would much rather be shooting either one, but my calendar was already filled by my non-rent paying tenant that sexually harasses me.

Is that not the same as Texas Holdout ... lol
