Remarks:
It was a beautiful day to shoot. It was cool and sunny. Leaves fell throughout the day during the match with light winds. It was the typical fall weather in New England.
Before the match started during sight in, we had everyone do a speed check using a Garmin Xero C1 chronograph to make sure everyone was under 20 & 12 FPE. Glad to report everyone passed.
After a brief shooter’s safety meeting, the match started at 10:10 am. During the match, we had a few cold lines related to strings getting snagged or getting caught on another target.
Stephan stopped shooting after 13 lanes. He later found out using my chronograph that he lost 90 fps in velocity after 7 lanes.
We had a three-way tie for 1st place in Hunter PCP. We had a shoot off among David, Bill and Khoa Jr. We set up a ½" KZ target at 25 yards and 1” KZ target at 45 yards. David F dropped both targets while Bill and Khoa Jr missed the 45-yard target. David gets 1st place. We then moved the 1” KZ target to 25 yards for the kneeling position shooting. Khoa missed his shot while after a couple minutes Bill was able to knock down the target and win 2nd place.
Continental breakfast and lunch were served before and after the match.
Khoa T Sr was generous enough to donate a portable air compressor (to fill a rifle only) to the club.
For the CT state awards, we gave out gold painted Elk face plates for 1st place finishers and wood laser engraved plaques as well. Please thank Cindy M, Mark M & Brandon S for their work on providing these excellent awards.
