2024 Texas Airgun Show NEWS

Unless I decide to stage one myself, there will be no Texas Airgun Show in 2024😞. So the closest we might get to an airgun show (buy, sale and trade) in Texas this year is if I decide to have a one-man show on one of my TEXtreme airgun competitions weekends.

STOP THE PRESSES!

Before posting this thread I realized the best approach to an alternative Texas Airgun Show (buy, sell and trade) in 2024 is to incorporate it into my local shooting club's annual Swap & Shop. So I (just) called the gentleman that organizes the Central Texas Rifle & Pistol Club's annual Swap & Shop to propose the possibility. Jerry Smith is fine with the idea, so it's now arranged.

Although a private shooting club, the CTRPC opens the club to non-members for competitions and other events. Hence, the 2024 Swap & Shop is not only open to anyone (free of charge), but non-members interested in purchasing display tables are also welcome to display their wares for the same price as club members; $10 per 4' X 8' table. Anyone interested in renting display tables will do so by calling Jerry Smith at 254-662-2937.

Jerry is a very nice gentleman; but be aware he is even older and harder hearing than me. That his voicemail requests anyone leaving a message to SPEAK UP AND SPEAK SLOWLY, allows me to not repeat that bit of 'sound' advice here. 😂

Though all display tables are on an outdoor shooting range, they are under an awning on a concrete slab; hence well protected from sun and rain-

The CTRPC Swap & Shop/CENTRAL Texas Airgun Show is Saturday, October 19, from 8 AM till 4 PM. Display table reservations are open until one week before the show, that being Saturday, October 12. Although tables MIGHT be available at the show without reservations, only if the tables are not sold out in advance. Table reservations are recommended for those wanting to display their wares, that CAN INCLUDE 'non-airguns';) and related shooting supplies, accessories, projectiles, propellants and primers.

In order to lighten Jerry's burden (and since he is not an airgunner), I will be an information portal with one caveat. Information from me BY PHONE CALL(S) ONLY. No exceptions. Correction- one exception. Face-to-face conversation(s).

You're Welcome,
Ron

I hear that a very wealthy, Texas millonaire purchased and collected high-end rifles his entire life, right up until he passed away in July of 2024.
I also hear that his widow, will be attending this event, and is selling every one of her husbands 1629 airguns.
Many rare, prototypes and one of a kind Whiscombe's.
Shes not worried about their true value, she simply wants them GONE, and out of the house FAST, so she can make room for her Hummel collection.
Probably no truth to this story, but perhaps it will spark some interest in the event!

Given the STAMPEDE of interest generated by this airgun show announcement post, thought this a good time to post a reminder to all TWO members that display any interest whatsoever about the event mentioned above that happens this-coming weekend.

Y'all try not to get crushed by the stampeding crowd!

Well amigo I don't know what it is about Texas and hobbies...???

I have been an avid RC Car Racer and Manufacturer since 1984 and I'll be damned if I can figure out why we can Not get more than a few guys together anymore...
Back in the day there would be 50 to 100 cars at a weekend, local event, and a regional event would bring 300+ ... The last so called big event I went to had less than 25 cars....

My point I guess is the Texas "rat race" is all consuming, Way too much work and Way too little play time.. sad

Maybe if you spot the deal of deals “call me” and you can be my purchasing agent 😎 commission!

THX for putting in the work. (y)

Saying so from way over here in Eurowille, CUZ i think Americans even Texans probably like we are here, So most will just take - take - take, and then complain when no one give.

"Fais ce que tu voudras" You don't have to cuss me, PS! 😂

On a more serious note- Yes, I enjoy reading foreign perspectives, opinions and feedback; be they Danish, or from some planet other than Danemark. Which reminds me of a Texas profundity-

"You can tell a Texan.🤠 You just can't tell him MUCH."

Hold my hat and watch this, Boys.🤤 AND DON'T DRINK MY BEER!

I'll be damned if I can figure out why we can Not get more than a few guys together anymore...

Largely because those that inflicted Covid on Humanity succeeded in the goal of damaging human society by severely disrupting social interaction(s) for years. Post-Covid shooting competitions that I contest turn out only 25-33% of the shooters they did pre-Covid. That is/was by design; Evil thrives in 2024.

But that might start changing soon.

I got this from a good friend of mine, as I was wondering about the same thing, be it on another gathering.

Seems accurate to me.
