I've had pretty good luck using those motion sensor sprinklers this past year. I set them up on a water hose line to run on short bursts when motion is picked up, and I run the water hose off a timed hose line sprinkler controller that automatically turns them on from 10 PM to 6 AM (technically in 2 blocks of 4 hours, because 4 hours is as long as it will run at once), with the sprinkers set in "dusk to dawn" mode. It worked well.@Struckat & @gendoc That's a hefty goal. One year my melons kept getting hitting. I chained a dog up around the garden, but she kept turning over the sand in the rows and laying across them trying to keep cool so I had to move her. Then I tried camping out to catch the offenders. I tried coming out at midnight, 2, and 4 am. Those bastards never showed up while I was outside and awake, but my melons continued to look like fruit bowls until they were all eaten. This was before I know about motion detector setups.
So fellas, I suggest setting up motion detectors with a ding-donger around your target areas, keeping an aired up rifle with NV or thermal scope mounted with a charged battery and a loaded mag by the bed, and get some rest. If ya'll find a more effective method, please share. Those late night pesting missions can be a PITA.
Correct, pistols do not count. My goal for 2025 is to not purchase any more rifles and enjoy the ones I have. I am only going to look on Krale for educational purposes only. I promise. Really. Who's with me?! Wait pistols do not count, right?
@BlkAirRiflemanOfGA It really depends upon your budget. Without any of that info, per usual I say grab a Benjamin Bulldog M357. You can knock down yotes with head shots or shots to the vitals with pellets or slugs. 4 solid shots per fill with slugs. Not sure how many shots per fill with 81 grain Diabolo pellets. If you want a double duty rifle (squirrels and coyotes) consider a Huben K1 in .25 caliber but that’ll cost you almost double what a Bulldog goes for.Do more target shooting. Some squirrel hunting of course. Would like to get into dove shooting as well. We are starting to get coyotes in the area so may be looking at possibly getting a .25PCP or even something in .30 or .357 cal. Any suggestions?
@humbled.ag I'll be looking for your name in the rankings. Can you say whether or not if you intend to stick with the same platform? For 2025, and into 2026 I plan to shoot well enough in Field Target to make the Springer team for the 2027 World Field Target Championship. Also placing top ten at RMAC and the Pyramyd Cup 100yd Benchrest events.
I'll be rocking the Dynamic again this year.@humbled.ag I'll be looking for your name in the rankings. Can you say whether or not if you intend to stick with the same platform?
YES! Haven't seen it mentioned in years & nearly forgot. Have everything needed so heck yes.I'm going to have more fun. Mini Sniping is my new pastime https://www.minisniping.org and it's a blast.
I might unload some of the guns I don't shoot.
I *may* buy one of these Hubens I keep hearing about...
Mostly though, I'm going to enjoy what I have.
GsT
-Buy nice Range, house optional.
-First ever FT Match.
-Resist buying every good pcp deal I see
ditto on resist buying pcp's on the deal.

Moving into a newly built house so a new range and shooting area are in order...plenty of room, I need a good bench, and bags.
Will try to trade/sell guns I'm not using...too big or heavy and get smaller compacts...getting older and weaker you know...need to get rid of more than I get.
Planning to get together at my new place with some good friends I got to know through AGN, to shoot and get to know each other...none of us is getting any younger...
Get to know more AGN members...An unexpected benefit of AGN...Great people...(more fun than shooting!)
