Events 2025 Republic of Texas April 25-27

Morning everyone! It’s just about one month left before ROT and only 1 week before entry fee goes up to $105, so register now @ $95! We have 36 entries so far with shooters from as far as NC and Cali. Both courses are starting to look good and green, and we have some small surprises waiting for you that are different than the last ROT. As a reminder, this will be 3 days of shooting with Pistol Friday and Rifle Saturday and Sunday. Expect a tough course but it won’t be 36T because I think that just takes all the fun out of it! Don’t wait, sign up today!

Anything beginner related at the shoot for first timers? Or not this month?
A GP is not the best place for someone to start, but it is not uncommon for shooters to attend their first match at a GP! I have seen it many times. You are welcome to attend and will experience FT at a very high level; but your scores will definitely be lower, but don't get discouraged!

Thanks for the info. I think I will just show up and watch this one.

This would be a great match to come and check out if you have never shot FT. That said if you have studied the sport and have a good understanding of the rules and what is going on don’t be scared off. I shot the world championship back in November and the first day was squadded with a guy who had never shot a FT match. He knew it was a big deal, close to home, and didn’t want to miss the opportunity to shoot in the WFTF World Championship. Super nice guy and he did fine. He knew going in he was going to get his butt whipped & learn a lot. He also had a good grasp of the rules and what was going on and kept the pace of the match.

Good advice. You may be talking me into it. It won't hurt to shoot it just to have fun and learn.

If you are going to register, please do so soon. We have room for more. We'll have Texas BBQ for Saturday lunch and Jasons Deli for Sunday lunch. We have great raffle items from Utah Airguns, Pyramyd Air, Predator Intl, H&N, AirForce, Athlon and BKL. Come on out, Scott and I are excited to see you!

What kinda weather are we expecting?

We are less than 2 weeks away from the 2025 ROT Grand Prix in Texas and there are 44 rifle shooters and 18 pistol shooters registered. Here is a link to the Information Form (that contains the Registration Link inside of it) if you still want to attend; it's not too late to register.

This is an AAFTA-compliant match that will follow all rules applicable to a Grand Prix, so please read and be familiar with those rules. We will be giving away medals for top finishers in each class and a custom Texas State Champion plaque to the highest Texas shooter.

We've settled on a 60-shot pistol match on Friday afternoon and 120-shot rifle match using our two courses on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Expect challenging yet rewarding courses on all 3 days. The weather forecast shows highs in the 70's with a 40% chance of rain next weekend, so bring some rain gear just in case. We will shoot in the rain unless there is lightning in the area, and then we'll wait it out under cover until the storm passes.

We have confirmed sponsorship from Pyramyd AIR, Utah Airguns, AirForce Airguns, Predator International (JSB), and H&N.

We will have catered lunches from Hickory Stick BBQ and Jasons Deli on Saturday and Sunday.

Here are some pics of a few lanes that await you.
