I've decided to purchase an HW98 in .22. What I'm most curious about is what you've found to be your favorite hunting pellet. Pest birds and squirrels mostly. JSB Hades has been my got to with my pcp's. What have you seen to be the best at these lower power levels?
I also have the 98, 97 and 95 in .22 caliber. For hunting you just can’t beat the Crosman Premier Hollow Points. $6 at WallyWorld. U.S. made. Save your money for another gun.

Pulled my 98 in .20 out this morning and shot the indoor RX target course. 16 shots for fifteen targets knocked down with total authority. Shooting seven of them through only 10mm/15mm holes in the face plates. Shooting the H&N 11.42 Gr pellets, at +/- 17 fpe powered by a trimmed Vortek PG4 steel HO spring with Vortek vac seal. Trigger components hand polished.

As accurate under 50 yards as some of my pcps.

Amazing.
