.22 RAW HM1000X and 18s?

I prefer 22s over any other caliber and I’ve owned .177 - .30. The cost of pellets is one factor but also because .22 MRDs have superior BC to other calibers at longer distances.

Oops, I misread your question, sorry. I can only shoot a maximum of 50 yards on my home range and I have to drive to the local range to stretch out my shooting yardage. Therefore, I prefer to shoot the lower cost 18s at home where the bulk of my practice takes place. I try to save the MRDs for longer distances.

You are thinking of spending another 2 grand to shoot cheaper pellets?

Tim, like you, I only have a limited short range to shoot so 18's are my staple to have on hand. I have slowly purchased tins of Redesigned 25gr but don't shoot them due to cost and air usage but mostly ammo cost! I still like your idea of a second RAW to shoot @ a different tune...my friend did just that when I first got mine..he purchased 2 in .22! LOL! And has one tuned for Redesigned and one for 18's. Remember, these are non choked barrels and shoot slugs very well! On your current tune, NSA 20gr .2175 would do very well @ close to 950fps. I have mine shooting NSA 17.5gr .2175 @ 935. NSA 17gr are cheaper to shoot than 25gr pellets! But, I only shoot slugs when hunting/pesting. Here are 2 groups (FYI) with said slugs @ 20yds...adjusted turrets to get the lower left group, both groups are touching.
