.222 Slugs

The barrel in my Krait Lite Long HP is .222 slugged. I tried a few .22 slugs 217, 218, 219 and all failed of course. I see AVS makes .223 but haven't purchased any yet, and that seems like it would maybe cause some o-ring issues (maybe not) . Does anyone know if someone makes .222? I don't plan on sizing anything. It shoots 25.39's very well even in a un-choked barrel but slugs seem to be what this thing is designed to shoot and I'd sure like to try.

This is totally doable. You just need to find the right slug design and weight. The most important piece are the sizers, and Lee has them.

Interesting info @MACTEN, 222 is a rare size.
.222 is not rare...Most all the worlds 22lr barrels are .221 to.223in diameter.... So .222 is really popular.... The airgun weird different sizes are to hit buyers with high prices. Its cheaper to buy 22lr ammo than just airgun slugs....Really.....huh makes.no sense.... I just bought a Arsenal molds .223 diameter in 45 grain spire point.for my Chaszel 12 twist 22 lr barrel liner...

You are correct. There are a couple problems with the firearm variety:

1. The bullets are jacketed.
2. The bullets are too hard since they are going over twice the velocity.

You will typically need to look for cowboy bullets since the lead is not as hard.
I've attempted to shoot a .457 meister cast and all .457 badman bullets had to offer out of a 909s without success. The latter were polymer coated.

Your best bet at this time is to hit up RM.510 or mrhollowpoint and kick them a little money to buy a .222 sizer if you do not have a press to size the bullets. You cannot avoid this step. Honestly, I'd try .221, .222, and .223 from a single slug design and see what the outcome is.

I'll eventually get this caliber and the dies. To get it sooner I've have to negotiate a larger order to justify the cost.

How does the 22LR barrel work in an airgun, because there is a huge potential to use lead 22lr bullets in such configurations.

I bought a Chaszel 22lr chambered blank .I cut off.the 22 lr chamber on lathe . I turned down outside diameter to 8mm to.fit my Airforce Condor. I then put a.carbon fiber sleeve on it to 12 mm for Airforce factory bushings...

I will text you in some time. This it absolutely fantastic development on the very topic I am currently working on.

Yup the only reason aside that my uragans shoot awesomely slugs , that they are not being sold , is because I will lose to much. Money selling them almost $900 of a lose each $$ thow to the trash .. I would gladly keep only my AF guns that I could cast for .. until some day finally some one does HP small bore regulated cast bullet shooters ..

Arsenal molds Powder Coat 45 grain mold. In .223 diameter . I cast and powder coated 8 lbs today... So cost $8.00 ...I'm not paying $20.00 a 100 for 22 slugs.......I have more time than money......

Don't worry I cast more slugs then i.can shoot.. As long as USPS is shipping they will come your way. For now only green sliver and purple slugs...Making 300 lbs of .510 slugs give me a lol experience😀...I ruined a good NOE hollow pointing .512 mold when I started... Failures can be the best teacher😀...I also failed at powder coating in bulk until I found my method.. All in all the small .223 slugs are way easier to cast than the .510 650 grain slugs....I have to run 2 Lee 420 pots.to keep.up with..one one PID controller and the other with manual thermostat. I switch to PID controller whatever Pot I'm casting with...20 lbs of lead.nothing for .510....I hope to get accuracy with case .222 slugs ..fingers crossed

This is the mold you've been looking for:

Get a .222 sizer and you should be in business.
Yes this is a excellent slug for the 222 barrel I like to cast in pure lead and they drop at .223" or just under that
if casting with that MP mold using a little tin they cast at .224" a good speed is at 960 fps they'll cast at 35 grain
