Tried to put a co2 cartridge in my 2240 but I could not get the old one out. Don't know if it's because its been in there a few years or not. It is completely empty.

I have had this happend , try firing the gun with the cap off exposing the cartage , may take a few times, if that don't work , I have used a magnet that fits in there , I have the one that telescopes, good luck

Hi, if you are sure the CO2 cartridge is empty then you can drill a small hole in the bottom of the cartridge and insert a sheet metal screw. Pulling on the screw should allow you to pull out the cartridge. BUT MAKE SURE THE CARTRIDGE IS EMPTY AND WEAR SAFETY GLASSES JUST IN CASE.

Once you are sure the cart is empty firing it a few times is good and a magnet is good as is drilling a hole for a screw as stated in previous posts. One more way might be to use some epoxy on a stick and let it stand overnight. One of those four will get it out for sure.

you need and hot glue gun and a wood dowel and you guessed it, glue the dowel to the to the cartridge
if you do not have either you could, i have, take the gun outside and hold on very tie and throw the gun straight down but don't let go the cart might, could come out
the glue and the stick works every time
old empty cart will get stuck, i have had it happen to me and many other have had the same problem
in really there are not stick that hard but you can't get a hold of them

I am thinking on ordering one of these very pistols, but want to know if these are prone to having the CO2 cylinder getting stuck in there?

I bought an almost brand new one for $20. at a gunshow 2 yrs. ago because the guy couldn't get a cartridge out. I took it home and loosened the cap way up and pointed it at the floor and tapped the cap with a plastic hammer. Three hard taps and it came right out.
