Got a decently sized male grey squirrel today, was actually shooting to figure out the trajectory on this Zelos in the woods about 55y behind my house, saw a grey squirrel hop from a pine onto my roof, then him trying to get under the gutter guards. He FAFOd pretty fast. Was skinning him because I enjoy eating them without the fur sometimes.. .

The hydrostatic effect ruptured his thoracic cavity, completely shredded the right lung, perforated and dissected the left, liquified the heart lacerated the liver. Fragmented completely. The base is what exited only flecks of lead recovered. Pics added when I wash everything off

The whole reason I gave VK a try was @JaceSpace1369 sending me a sample pack of 28,28.5 and 32.8 slugs. I shot them out of my notos for $hits and giggles knowing theyd not break 700fps. Two weights shot through the same holes for their respective groups. And the 32.8 did a small cloverleaf at 35y. That impressed me. So I tried the .1771s and sure as poop they shot incredibly. They expand insanely fast. And in every single gun but one across 3 calibers the VarmintKnockers shoot well. Only gun that doesn't seem to shoot them well is the avenger .177

FX superior and slug liners shoot them well
.25 slug liner
.22 superior and slug

Zelos shots them incredibly. The .217 22gr xlhp.
The p35x shoots them well albeit a little slower. At 835-840fps at 148bar
Notos shot them well at 27fpe and 31fpe
The .1771 13.5gr shoot great out of an at-44 I have at 870fps.

Just damn good ammo. Very much worth the $12.50 -13.50 per 100

They are by far my favorite hp slugs for decimated pests.

As far as I've experienced, for low power and high power guns alike VK Are the best option if they shoot well, with griffin LDC a close second.

Vks offer a huge cavity. Very thin walls resulting in explosive expansion and fragmentation immediately, however the starting point of 22gr for .22 and 34 for .25 require a bit more ass out of the gun, as even some higher dollar .25s aren't able to push 34gr pellets over 830-840 out of the box, much less slugs. Same for .22 and 22gr
Griffins have a much smaller opening but expand well at low power, with the options that open up slugs for significantly lower power PCPs with offerings that actually expand great in 17-19 grains. As long as you can move them at or above 730-750fps you can use these and get wonderful results.

Correct, and I have experienced expansion with the .177 15gr slugs as low as 400fps or 5fpe

I’ve never shot them below 900 in any of mine, so no experience at lower speeds, but with my modded armada I’ve shot the 33 2s and larger hp at near 1100 fps and the accuracy never degraded. That says a lot for the integrity of the bullet.

I've accidentally out them in the washer and they just come out shinier, even in .177, they hp don't deform unless you really try to deform them.
