2300 30 cal carbine first blood

Finally got a tree rats this morning. I've been wanting to see what this lower power thirty would do. I caught this little girl at the base of my maple tree. She was young and dumb, and let me walk out with the rifle in hand and didn't even notice.

Tuned for 44 fpe with fx hybrids, I took aim at the vitals and hit just a bit low. She ran maybe 15 feet and dropped. I don't think this would've been recovered if it had not been for the caliber size. 177 or 22 I think it would've ran off and died in a tree. Full pass thru at 10 yards. I think that's a lung hanging out of the entry wound lol.

The 30 cal is becoming my favorite pellet. Great accuracy and tons of momentum when compared to lower calibers.

Is that a Crossman barrel? I am looking to build an AEA HP 30 cal rifle and am having trouble finding barrels.

The air tube is a crosman lol. The valve is a magnum airpower disco valve, marauder trigger, and a Kral barrel. Side lever is from a maker out if Russia.

How accurate is it with hybrids? I thought they had to be pushed fast.

That's what I thought too, but they're only going like 650 fps. The rifle only has a 12" barrel and it's choked, but the hybrids are grouping within 3/4" groups out to 40 so far. Hades shoot tighter groups, too bad the mags won't fit the polymags.

You should try the Zan 37gr! .30 cal lead free pellets! You should be able to reuse them as well lol
