Crosman 2300T full custom build.

Back in 2016 I decided to buy a Crosman 2240 C02 pistol for fun. And quickly fell down that rabbit hole. This is when the Crosman custom shop was still a thing and you could build and dream on the computer all night. So I decided rather than buy a pistol and modify it . I would just buy the Lothar Walter barrel and build it up from there.
The only Crosman part is the air tube. I wanted the original etching with the numbers and caliber. I found one marked 2300T.
From there it was a couple years of parts collecting and work. Then Covid and job stuff the pistol has sat for years. Till last week I built a 15 foot indoor range I can shoot any time.

It’s fun to shoot and since I built the new range I shoot it every day.

Since I built the 2300 the 1701 Silhouette pistol was released and it has a really nice two stage trigger.
And it is a drop in replacement for the 2300 trigger frame.
But everyone knows it . So they are a little hard to find. Not to bad but 80 bucks for the whole group.

The original trigger is OK. The modified floating sheet is really good. But I can’t wait for the new 1701 trigger.

I too fell down that rabbit hole a few years ago, building up several 22xx types, including S &T types, both for myself, son and grandson. That upper small picture looks like a supersear, which I do not think is any longer available. I used a few of them and some 1701p triggers, This was all during covid when the custom shop was shut down, so I got parts list and ordered all the small parts. There was one of the guns where the supersear which I had polished actuall was better than the 1701p. Toward the end of my journey making those nice guns I did find some complete, already assembled 1701p frames and trigger groups on ebay and that was much easier.

I installed a left hand aluminum breech and a discovery valve . Plus an adjustable hammer and the adjustable hammer spring.

i must say some of the pictures make little since
why do i say that the sear springs looks to be factory and heavy and unneeded, the spring on the trigger with the supersear just added that much more weight to the trigger
you have a roller trigger that is fine and in one picture you have an aftermarket wide sear that Magnum airpower sells i have those in my Blue Fork frames

now when you get your 1701p grip frame that first came out in 2011 and your new hammer is advise cutting a hole in your frame cover

The photos are kinda what I built first then replace and now I am replacing the lot with the 1701 trigger.

The first trigger was basically stock then I changed the springs and then I replace the shear and the spring arrangement. It has a single stage trigger with the super sheer. But there is a spring loaded gap that makes it feel like a two stage trigger. My finger takes up the first stage that is just that lower spring pulling it. No real pressure just a spring so it is not loose. I feel the trigger roller touch the sheer and then it’s about 12 oz to release the shot. But it does have creep if you look for it.
