Skout 25 cal Epoch barrels

Seeking advice from Epoch owners on factory Epoch barrel choices: how well does the 34.4” 1:23 shoot pellets? Any specific pellet that it loves/hates?

Is the 1:27 25” the correct choice for pellet only?

I have both barrels. The standard barrel shoots pellets very accurately. The 34.4 is their slug barrel, and I haven’t spent much time with it yet, but is surely shoots slugs accurately, and the few pellets I’ve tried also worked very well. I’ll try to shoot some later this afternoon and update.

If you are shooting pellets, the standard is the way to go. This is the best group with the slug barrel, and definitely the exception, not the average, and I wasn’t able to match it a second time. Kinda windy, FX 34 grain pellets at 890fps and 52 yards.

I would think the slower 1:27 would match pellets better. The sale is making an epoch hard to resist!! Don’t want to derail the thread but a quick side note. Do you know the max time the trigger can be set for in match mode ?? The trigger regulations in this gun are the biggest no go for me. This guns seems kind of bench only.

Pretty sure mine has the 1:27 standard 25” barrel. Reg is at like 1340 (crazy low) shooting 33.95 jsb mk2 at 910. Def don’t need any longer of a barrel for pellets. Here is a bunch of shots at 50 after turning it down to 910. Crazy…literally no tuning involved unless you consider tuning a reg knob tuning, I do not.

I busted a move on one last Friday. I went with the 25” 1:27. Almost went with an EVO but decided to try something that’s been out for bit longer. Also the 4th of July sale was a nice benny . I ordered an Ares ETR UHD 4.5-30x56 FFP $750 at Amazon to top it off.. I am very interested in learning this platform. I’ll work to report my adventures with It…Arrives this week!

I think you will be happy. Only real knocks I have found are the storing the gun empty. You lose the air that’s inside the gun every time you put it away. The hardcase won’t fit my gun and scope unless I take the tool kit out.
