Tuning .25 Dreamline Slug Conversion

I came into some NSA slugs today and was concidering refitting my Dreamline to shoot them better. As of right now, the gun will put 3/5 in the same hole and then throw the other two wide right (2+ inches) at 50yds. No bueno but honestly better than I expected.

FX has two options for slug liners, the standard and the heavy. Realistically, I would like to stick to sub 30gr slugs so I believe the standard would be the right choice. I do have a box of the 33.5gr too though and am not sure if the heavy liner would be better.

As far as getting some extra oomph behind these slugs, I have a power plenum on its way. Reguardless of whether I stick to slugs or not, I probably should have installed this years ago. According to the numbers listed, I should be able to expect up to 65ftlbs with this installed. Is 60fpe a reasonable expectation with 26.8gr slugs?

Final question. Is the Huma dual port transfer port worth grabbing? Should I just toss it in just because? More potential air can't be a bad thing, right?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

I have my .30 cal DreamTac spitting out JSB 44.75s at 875 fps. It's got a power plenum and a Huma dual transfer port on a 600mm barrel . You should have no problem with your set up.

Good to hear. I guess my only concern is the slug liner at this point. I can't seem to find any info on what is concidered a "heavy" slug. Utah only has the standard in stock reguardless so I guess I'll just give that a go for now. Worse case scenario, I'll at least be able to get the 34gr Exacts up into the 900s.

Thanks for the help man

I have my Dreamline lite .25cal shooting NSA 26.8's at 950fps with the Superior liner. They are 1/2 to 3/4 at 50 and slightly better than the Hybrids. On the other hand my Maverick 25cal 700mm superior liners like the Hybrids better at 960fps over the NSA's, but not by much. I am getting ready to add a 2nd pp to the Dreamline as I have the 480cc tank on it. You'll be hard pressed to get 60foot pounds out of the 26.8's. I barely get that out of the JSB Knockouts 33.49's at 61 foot pounds.

950fps/54fpe sounds good to me. If I need more than that I can always switch to 22lr. I just chronoed the 26.8gr with just my factory setup and I'm averaging 865fps. The extra 85fps would be a nice bump.

1/2" would be fine too. I've never really gotten much better than that with this gun and pellets anyway.

Appreciate the input!
