.25 Heavy pellet problem for guns with Poly barrels

They are also putting out two types of .22 25.39 redesigned monsters, one of which with a deeper base, info as per Gregor, He is/was finding them less accurate out of the RTI Prophet, a gun designed (in LR configuration) around that pellet.

A few months ago I sent an email to JSB asking if I could special order the shallow base .22 - 25.4 MRD’s. They said they have been permanently discontinued due to excessive skirt damage incurred during shipping. They replaced them with the deeper cavity pellets with heavier skirts. They said their testing showed NO difference between the two. I suspect the same thing is likely going on with the .25 caliber pellets too.

I mentioned it once here lately in regards to this skirt change you guys are seeing with the .25, but just dug through pics in my phone and found this from a few years ago.

Veteran mag with JSB Exact RS. 22 (13.43gr). Notice the difference in skirt depth and thickness. Made a rule for myself that day to never combine the last of the old tin with an new tin. Cuz JSB changes their stuff, outside label doesn't mean much.

Another example.

Far right here is a .22 Crosman premier, but the left and middle came from two different tins of JSB .22 14.35gr. notice variation in skirt depth and thickness.

From what I've seen with .22 cal pellets, somehow the .25 Heavy was immune to this for quite some time, but now appears to be suffering from the same random changes to cavity depth and skirt thickness that afflicts other JSB pellets.

Just FYI for everyone, I have several messages back and forth with PA trying to get this worked out. Including pictures and videos. These kinds of changes take time. We’ve discussed a few reasons this could be happening (not to discuss here). But as far as my look at this goes, PA has been very helpful and they really want to solve this one way or another.

So I’m not going to return my butt load of .25 tins yet. I’ll wait for further investigation and give it time to come to resolution. At which time I’m positive PA will do whatever they must, to make the customers happy. In my business that is what I would do. I’m certain PA wants happy customers. So let’s give them a little time to hammer this out.

Just my thoughts

I don't want to be a doubting Thomas, but unless the King Heavy are old stock, I'd bet that JSB no longer makes the real King Heavy (Mk1)... In my experience lately, the FX .25 Heavy seem to be most like the Mk1, kind of between the Mk1 and the Mk2 in configuration. They shot better out of my Delta than the Mk2 but not as good as the "real" Mk1.

NT, I honestly don't think they've looked... It doesn't take a magnifying glass or dial calipers to tell the difference, yet PA, PI, and JSB all parrot the same line, they still make them and the "only" difference is the skirt OD. But EVERYONE that has written in has confirmed that the skirt OD on the "fake" King Heavy and Mk2 are identical. It seems illogical to say they haven't actually looked at the differences, but that's the only logical explanation.

If you’re right that they haven’t looked, i.e. bothered to confirm they can supply both types, they have made a costly blunder with the official statements that is going to bite them in the behind. Or to put it differently, the potential of monetary loss moves me off my default cynical position. I could be wrong but retail seldom invites financial liability so casually.
