Been tweaking with the MK11 heavies and I keep going back to the same settings, reg 130, power wheel 5, valve 4.3 running between 820 and 830ftps, I’ve struggled to get it any faster even though the hammer spring slack is taken out. I read other people’s settings and my valve seems to be out further than most but if I wind it in accuracy falls off.
Should I quit tweaking and enjoy the rifle or is there more to be had, does anyone shoot the heavies over 850ftps with the standard smooth twist barrel with good results?
Cheers.

I don't know anything about the scientific stuff that you're doing with the pellets and all that and the gun tuning, but I can tell you that a one whole group at 60 yards is about as good as you can get. I would call that a one whole group. I would say Enjoy your gun. Nice shooting!

wait...didnt Ted from Ted's Holdover get a one hole group at 100 yards with his impact? He did something at a hundred yards with it that he was very proud of, I can't remember exactly what it was. If it was a one whole group then you may want to keep tuning

Yeah what he said lol. Awesome shooting for sure. I also Have the impact and understand how your feeling, with all the adjustments I find myself wanting to fine tune here and there and test out what gives the best groups. That’s the nice thing about the impact though is tuning and trying to get the best out of it.

I’m also getting groups like yours when the conditions are right, So lately I have been just enjoying shooting and having fun and not worrying about the tuning.

your groups look awesome man!
with the settings you have just try to adjust the valve adjustment all the way out until when you move you have velocity changes. I MEAN BACK THE VALVE ALL THE WAY OUT. Sounds crazy right? But doing this does increase the fps a little but it actually makes the ES tighter.( and this comes from ernest rowe)
Another thing. Do you know if your REG gauge is accurate? My bottle gauge is off by 40bar and the reg gauge is off like 10bar.
But from what you have your definitely doing good.

the setting I have is....
1.) Valve open all the way
2.) HS is 3
3.) Reg is 105bar

now I have a original 700mm barrel and with those settings I'm pushing MKIIs at 860 very consistently and accurately. ( I have no proof like sonny) but when you think your impact is shooting good there is always something that says, hey it could be better then it all starts again. When I tune my gun first thing I do is get the velocity down from there I just shoot toward the sky to watch my pellet and adjust until there is no wobble, spiral or anything of the sort.
sorry for the rant!

Nice groups, very similar to what I was getting at those distances with mk2 heavies to begin with, I played around a lot with the vs and power wheel but in the end I increased my REG by a quarter turn-out 5 bar increase... and now I get those groups at 100 meters 110 yards! 840-848 fps.
I don't weigh my pellets but I give them the yrahh roll test, divided into three groups. Oh and I polished my barrel lightly like Ernst video.
