.25 Marauder Breach Seal Replacement

How often should one replace the breach seal in a .25 Marauder? I've had the gun since I think April or May of 2015 and I've probably put 3000 rounds through it since then. (On a side note: I never realized how much I enjoy shooting until getting this gun!) I'm just wondering if maybe it's time to replace the seal. It seems to be functioning OK, but I'm just curious if there is some established, accepted frequency that everyone else knows about that I don't know about. Seems like it is a wear item as the pellets and/or bolt are routinely rubbing against it.

Not sure ,but PM me your address and I'll send you some. I bought a 100 from McMaster and then I sold my .25 Marauder( wish I hadn't). I never had to replace one ,but I lost it because the bolt probe wasn't pushed forward when I fired the shot and couldn't find the oring.

I'd run it until an issue comes up, naturally having a spare in the parts bag would be wise. Crosman does say to lube that o-ring every 500 shots, I've seen plenty of Air Arms with the same inside barrel o-ring last for many years. Never noticed any prob drag on the aa but the marauder does seem to drag on the o-ring a good bit with a mag or single and lubing it every 200 or so shots makes it feel better.
Get a ( some ) spares and don't forget to lube them before placing in storage , really extends there shelf life.

I actually have a full set of o-rings for it. I was just wondering if I wait until there's a problem, or if I should pro-actively replace them. I accidentally blew mine out once, but I found it stuck on the bolt and was able to replace it.

I change mine every time I clean the barrel. I did make a habit of periodic lubing as well.

You can put a piece of tissue over the breach area to check if air is escaping when you dry fire or best to test with a pellet. Of course when done safely. Luckily you can give the oring a good visual (with a magnifying glass and flashlight) if replacing the o-ring is needed. Also I usually keep the bolt pulled back a little to keep the probe off the oring but keep the breech sealed when not in used. I don't think lubing the o-ring help with accuracy. But it doesn't change POI either. So I lube the oring just to make loading pellets into the breach smoother and quieter for the next shot.
