.25 PolyMag expansion on game (graphic)

The one PolyMag I was able to retrieve from today's squirrel hunt. From .25 to .395" in the space of 3" of squirrel (hit him head on). Very good accuracy (compared to JSB, the gold standard) out to 40 yards, and noticeably more lethal.

"zx10wall"Wowsers!! Those look and sound to be devastating!!!
@zx10wall Whoa, Derrick lives!! Ya know, as an accuracy snob from way back, I tested these and dismissed them 10 years ago in .22 and .25cal. BUT, for this application (their intended application) they are impressive. Easily shoot 1/2" at 40 yards and really rip em' a new one.

I really like the Polys on tree rats too. I use them in my .17, .20, .22 and .25. They are the only pellet I use in the .20 R10. I only use them squirrel hunting in the .25. Too dang expensive for anything else! They are just about dead even with the JSBs out to about 40 yards. You sure got a nice mushroom on that recovered pellet. I have shot a lot into gel, water and game. Hardly ever get a nice mushroom. They always loose their skirts.

Hi All

I tested a while back .25 Polymag’s at 1000 fps out of my SPA P12 un-regulated, mainly on Rock Pigeons (South Africa), I must have shot over 150 pigeons on 4 separate shoots.

As I have written before “What have you shot this year” they should have called Polymag’s “Hammer of Thor” you just have to hit the pigeons and they instantly die. I did find them affected by the wind much more than the Kings and after 65 m they lost their ability to instantly kill pigeons.

Shooting pigeons under 65 m, I would give them first place, followed by Kings at 1000 fps and thirdly King Heavies at 870 fps.
