Man id like some trigger time on one of these scouts, but i dont think any Dane have one.

I have not dared to look at the barrel of my Two, that is what is inside the tensioning system, CUZ i would then need a torque wrench to put it back together to be sure where i am with the tensioning of the barrel.

I assume i could just go and look at a pic at Lother Waters home page, to get looks and specs / measurements.

Later in the year, probably get torque wrench and a few other knick knacks.

..I have a feeling the problem is o-ring 9006, but seems impossible to replace.

Could be the poppet seal inside the reg as mentioned above on MFE 105. You can pull out MFE107 then pressurize and if still leaking its probably from the poppet seat per SKOUT or turn it in to reseat and then reset desired pressure. You can get 9006 apart but will need some non-marring plyers and an allen key in the end. Once apart the o ring can be replaced but I believe SKOUT would just send you new poppet as well.

No. I took it apart, cleaned and regreased everything, and it’s fine now. I hope it lasts through the Oregon event. I’ll do it again before RMAC. Plus I have a spare reg both HP and LP

As far as depressurizing the gun between uses I don’t, but Augie @Bigragu does. I’m gun shy doing that since it bit me in the ass in December 2023 when I brought the gun to the Orlando EFT GP and the LP reg failed when I pressurized the gun the morning of the competition.
I’ll live with a 200 to 300 psi drop daily, not a big deal.

So what barrel length are you actually using then?

Yes. It’s as accurate as they come. I shoot the AEA 45s at about 905 fps. Good enough to be competitive at the major Pro level.

So I’m a little confused. Ive read that to use the fix barrels on the scout you have to send the barrel in and they have to modify it to make it work, is that true? If so what did you have to do? Also are you able to use a moderator with the setup? Thanks

No, you buy a barrel assembly for the length and caliber of FX liner you want. They send it to you and you install the liner. Easy day. Yes, you can use the factory mod or your own with a DonnyFL adaptor.

Sorry for all the questions, I have one more.

, I’ve noticed in all the Skout social media posts and from their shooting at competitions from their own guys, it looks like most of their group is using external bottle regulators unless I’m looking at something incorrect. I’m wondering if they’re having the same problem you were. And instead of solving the problem. They’re just using that external regulator as a Band-Aid? Or is there a benefit by adding another regulator. What are your thoughts?

I think the bottle reg fixed the symptoms and not the cause. Neither Augie nor me had an issue once we did our oring upgrades on the factory reg. We got the ES under 10 fps and SD under 3 fps for a 40 shot string. The in-line reg is the “easy button”.

Well, that seems dumb, especially since even the Scout people don’t wanna fix it. So it sounds like you’re either stuck with putting the in-line regulator or doing the O-ring fix if you’re wanting this gun to shoot perfect!
Wouldn’t have a link for that O-ring you replaced would you?

It’s a standard BunaN 90 duro size 009 oring. Or you could use a Viton 90 duro. The PU factory oring tends to take a “set”.

I’m curious what exact oring in the reg needs changing? The ES on mine is hit or miss. Some days decent and some days it totally sucks due to a few errant low velocity shots.
