Taipan .25 taipan standard

I purchased this .25 taipan standar with the intention of change the barrel to a 15mm TJ 1-22 twist. Why .? Because they suck . I have never found a review of the .25 that at least was some what close to the accuracy of the .22 . I personally have had 2 including one of the first original long and it simply can't shoot the 34g pellets in a aceptable way and the 25gr where at least aceptable.. it was really rare for me because I have shot cheap guns like the hatsan or krall and they have shot way better.. THIS least batch of taipan have won the barrel lottery it shoots Great almost any pellets you throw at it including the 34gr wich make the gun as silent as my .22 .. and I was testing at 94y + with pellets .. I'm more than happy with this purchase this kind of acurracy was what i being looking for in a .25 for the last 6 years.. OF this las batch there is only one left .. at only $1,100 what a bargain.

I have a taipan 25 long and it shoots fine with 25.39 grain AA at 100 yds and if I tuned it for 33.95 grain pellets I'm sure it would shoots equally well or better. I also have a Taipan Veteran 2 Tactical 700mm and it shoots both pellets and slugs very accurately at 100 yds. Guess I hit the "barrel lottery " at 100 percent.

Mine came tuned to shoot 25gr at 925fps so 34gr should be close to 840fps and is perfectly accurate with both.. I could only imagine the new taipans with such a power house if they come with barrels like these, they will be keeper for sure .. since the Epic 1 is from the same company I think I will try one of those soon..

The new Taipan Veterans are unchoked barrels and with JSB knockout slugs 33.49 grain I'm shooting those at 943 fps getting 1.25 to 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. This same Taipan also shot JSB MK2 33.95 grain pellets very accurately. But I didn't play with those farther than 30 yards because I was playing with slugs. Oh and I'm sure both my Veterans are capable of tighter groups at 100 yards. But unfortunately I'm the weak link in the shooting combination.

That last OG .25 Standard that Talon Tunes currently have in stock has a CZ unchoked barrel. That is according to an email conversation I had with Taipan. I saw that Talon Tunes is advertising it as a CZ barrel but I've always thought that the .25 comes with LW barrels so I had to clear it up. He told me that there really was no "rule" as to what barrel they put in... just depends on the dealer and what the market demands.

I was expecting a LW Barrel with my Taipan 2 Tac .25 but it's got the 12 groove CZ un-choked. It's fantastic with the knockouts but was lacking with 34 gr FX and AEA 33.95 however the wind was a steady 15 mph with lots of 25-30 mph gusts as the day went on, and that's when I started trying pellets.

Yes, as far as I know, most Veteran 2's have CZ unchoked barrels.

My Vet two standard does have a cz (550) in .22, but I don't really know at this point if it's choked or not. And as far as a choke goes.. When slugging the .25 700mm Vet 2 barrel.. It does have the slightest of chokes close to the muzzle.
