.25 Vulcan Tactic groups

i had a completely empty house tonight and was able to stretch my distance from 10 to 25 yards. Not really a long way and any good PCP should do this. 4 X 9 shot groups basically a magazine load per target. I figured 3 or 5 shot groups are easy. 9 shot groups will likely show any issues. Pellets were JSB King Heavy mkII's.

That last group is 6.5mm! Same hole

Amoxom, that's what I'm talking about, if you can't take it out to 50 and beyond then bump up the shoot court to a full magazine. Good looking groups. I like the MKII's as well but after a get rid of the 7 cans I have I think I will go to the kings, because a more stable FPS will equal better consistency. And as good as my MKII shoot the kings are better. Or at least that is what I'm going to try and prove this weekend.

Ok, went pellet testing today, and i've got mixed feelings: I've been around a while now and on multiple sites so i'm pretty well grounded in the airgun shooting. Some times i feel like there is something wrong with my barrel because of my groups compared to the stuff i read here and on TalonAirgun, then other times i'm happy with the gun. I know one of you guys just got another barrel for your impact because it shot 1/2" groups at 50 and 2-3" groups at 100 yards. Now whom says your gun is supposed to shoot 1/2" at 100 yards??? The price tag? I know if it was easy we would all be doing it. I've read all of Spins articles on the principles of good airgun shooting, and holding of the gun, and i know all of those out there are not doing this especially while hunting and getting some great groups, especially from the Vulcan line of guns thats why i got one. I know guns are pellet fuzzy and just because i like MKII's don't mean my gun will like them. I've shoot .1/2 groups with Kings, MKI's, and MKII's @ 50 yards 9-18 shot at one target and just about came on myself. Then at 75 yards and 100 yards can't get less than an inch to safe my life more than most get 2-3 inch. Maybe my gun is just meant to be 75 yards and less gun? I have shot 3 inch clay pigeons out to 150 yards but you know the rule, if you can't group at a inch or less at your hunting range you shouldn't shoot it (DAMN).

Ginuwine your doing awesome those groups are great and you have to realize that there are far too many factors involved in long distance airgun shooting like pellet, temperatures, wind, humidity, velocity, fpe, air pressure and so on. If you ask me I'd say your gun is awesome and your shooting just fine and if you want better then just keep shooting because my Vulcan.25 BP seems to shoot better and better the more I shoot it. Keep up the great shooting and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and results with us.

Old post, I know. Sorry. I have found with lots of shooting, powder and air ... a whole lot of the accuracy, or rather lack thereof ... is me. If I put a gun on a lead sled my accuracy improves at least 100%. That is .... twice as good. And a perfect trigger helps tremendously as well. Even with a lead sled. However, I can still kill pests off hand at pretty good distances. I just pull the trigger when the crosshairs are right ... for that fraction of a second I can hold them there.
