I would be throwing a lot of those in the bin. When I load my gun I've zero idea if I'm going to be shooting at something at 8 metres, or 80 metres. I'm not putting any deformed pellets/slugs in there.

Is that happening because of how they're packed/shipped? the Zan ones in their individual slots look way more consistent.

yes i believe loose in the tin shipping i would pick out 10 and shoot 50 yard target , not the really deformed ones , just the little dents .
to me they look like the blast of air will snap them back into the lands and groves ?

The skirts are rather thin. I believe a quick burst of HPA (aka being shot) will expand them to match the inner bore.

I think a sudden burst makes ALL thin skirted pellets conform to the bore. I think it is one of many effects when you release the trigger. Be Well, dito.

I have a pellet seater from Beeman back in the 80s. It has a pellet seating tip one end and a ball end on the other. It can do some minor straightening of the pellet skirts. Be Well Brothers, dito.
