Daisy 2x Minty 777s

Two nights ago I was cruising Ebay, lo and behold, some guy was selling a pair of 777s in the original boxes and pretty minty conditions for 600.00 buy now for the pair. I contacted my pen pal air gun buddy 1000 miles south of me and said, "are you going to hit buy now or am I?" He told me to go ahead. So in a couple of days I will have a nice 777 to go with my NTM CMP 853. As my buddy will as well. As a 70 yr old I am kind of excited as I gifted my 717 recently due to the acquisition of a nearly NIB 46M. But after reading about Daisy 717,747 and 777 I have been on a casual hunt. I was shocked to see the pair for 600.00.

Everyone on AGN when minty is mentioned:

I'm going to stop for a while. I need to discipline myself into learning proper 10m technique. Get the sights better sorted out now that I have improved lighting on my basement range and fixed my eyeglass issue. If those 777's have been sitting in a box for decades they might need a rebuild, something to do as the weather is turning to winter.

Wow, congrats! Good thing you spotted those before I did! Ive been casually looking for a 7xx in good shape for a few weeks now.

I owned a 747 decades ago but foolishly gave it to a nephew who later traded it for a skateboard (SMH).

Traded for a skateboard...that's sad, I hate those things.

graycrait That's a great deal. I always miss out on the good "buy now" deals.

There's a pretty nice 747 on ebay starting at $89. with 3 days to go and a new 777 for $475. That's too much but somebody wanted $599. for one a couple weeks ago.

I got the 747 back in the 80's after my boss brought his 777 to work. The accuracy is amazing. I always liked it a lot even if they're nose heavy. I sold it about 15 yrs ago but finally replaced it with a couple 777's a few years ago. After a rebuild and replacing a couple parts that were scratched, I have a pair but don't shoot much since I moved back to OH.

I'm thinking about selling one if anybody's interested.

@dfemmert , what kind of grip is on the pistol to the right?

A guy on ebay was making them a few years ago. I think it was around $65. I thought about sanding down the raised ridges, especially the thumb shelf. I think they stick out too much.
There's a wooden grip on ebay now but I think it was $190. It's more of a target grip with the flat base,

I had to save a copy of this. This is the highest I've ever seen one of these sell for.

People don't respond to well to a buy now with a high price but when you sell something nice with a low starting bid and let people decide the price it seems to have a better outcome.
37 people bid on this NIB 777. It's just like the 2 graycrait got for $300. ea.

I got interested in those a couple of years ago. First was a 747, then two, then ended up with 3 of the 777, eventually a 717 and I think a 727(.22 cal model) then another couple of 747's for my son and grandson. Rebuilt all with new seals and wipers, along with relubing the firing/trigger mechanism. Good shooters. The rear sight on the 777 is one of the best I have seen on an airgun, maybe not quite as precise as some like the IZH 46M or the FWB 65 -80 series, but easy to adjust and that adjustable width notch is good.
