3 Feinwerkbaus

Hi all,

I joined this site from a recommendation. Was told I could get more information and possibly sell.
Unfortunately, I need to post a bunch in order to get access to the classifieds.

I've got 3 Feinwerkbau rifles that I was given when my younger brother passed. He won some
Texas State championship of some kind. Was an avid airgun enthusiast.

I've got a Model 300 S, GmbH, and a 601
Would like information about their value.

Thanks ;o)
David

The FWB 300's can go for around $600-$800 depending on year and condition. More than likely people will ask what the FPS is as well as what the cone seal looks like. The cone seal is right by the loading port on the top, becomes visible once you cock the rifle.

The FWB 601 can go for around the $800-1200, again depending on quality and a few other parts.

The one that you have listed as a "Gmbh" GmbH is an abbreviation of the German phrase “Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung,” which means "company with limited liability." That rifle looks like it is an FWB 800 and they typically go for around the $1700 new. Again, depending on condition and the date on the air cylinder.

To me personally they all look to be in quite good condition and should make anyone happy to own. Sorry for your loss and if you want to get into 10m shooting, or FT as it looks like the 800 is possibly set up for this, you have some good guns to have fun with. Can take your brother shooting with you every time you shoot.

Your brother had good taste in guns! Sorry for your loss. American airguns classifieds would be a good place to consider just be careful of scamers. Or post enough here to place in classifieds. Are you in Texas? I'm north of Dallas might be intrested in the 601. If you went to the shoots your brother did bet you would have no trouble getting fair price in a safe manner. Good luck! Think Woogie is right at least keep one to remember your brother with. For a casual shooter the 300 or 601 would be my advice.

I have to agree with the others about keeping one. Since you aren't going to want to get involved with the compressors or tanks needed for the PCP, I'd suggest the same ones if you choose to keep one. I have a 300S and it is certainly a lot more accurate than I. Since it and the 601 are both what are called, single stroke pneumatics,, meaning you only pump them once to shoot,, they would be the simplest to use for a novice.

I wish that I had something of my brother's to remember him when I picked it up,, but I have to do it the old fashioned way. I, too, am sorry for your loss.

The brown stocked rifle with the chrome barrel is a FWB 800 FT version.

It will be marked somewhere on the rifle either 16J or 20J that will let you know where it was set power wise when it left the factory in Germany. The J stands for Joules, which is a measure of energy produced.

A post is every time that you reply in a conversation, or start a topic. Keep this conversation going and you will reach your 10 post threshold in no time.

Thank you Chuck-in-Ohio. Barrel says 16J.

Take a look at the American Airguns Classified site and seek out listings by Jim E. He has been selling air rifles for close to 20 years. You’ll get a good idea of what your rifles may sell for.

I have an FWB 300 SU and an FWB 601 (both purchased from Jim E., by the way) and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that some of the prices you’ve been quoted on this thread are a bit high. As an example, and in no way am I trying to denigrate or demean your rifles, your 300 appears to have a lot of brown on the barrel. That may be because of the lighting, but I don’t think so. That will definitely detract from the value, and $600 at the low end is merely a pipe dream. Think more at $350 - $400 at maximum.

Also, I think your 601, unless there’s something really special about it, would be more in the $650 - $700 range.

I‘m a bit unfamiliar with the other rifle, so I’ll hold off on any judgements regarding its value.

Sent you a PM about the 300S but not sure if you have enough posts to PM yet so posting here also. Short version, my wife and I like restoring old things to their former glory and she’s been talking about wanting a rifle with open sights. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your brother, but if you’re interested his gun would be in good hands. If you can’t reply to PM let me know here and we’ll figure out how to talk.

I sold my FWB 800 FT 20J version a year ago for$1,600, including a Falcon T50 scope.
It was in excellent condition and had all of the factory accessories included in the factory case. It was already sussed out for pellet preference as well.
The FWB 800 is more popular for Field Target across the pond due to their power restrictions. Here in the USA, they do not seem to have the following in Field Target circles as other brands do.

As yours sits in the picture, ask $1,200 and be prepared to take 1K......? That's just a WAG at a price.

@dnbc50 I have no idea on the value other than what’s been posted above. Always harder to tell when you can’t see the condition too. You posted you felt like you had a handle on the value of the 300 and the 601 so I was hoping maybe you did ha ha! I’m open to suggestions. Chuck-in-Ohio seems to know a lot about FWB, maybe he’d be willing to PM me a possible range? And I could post my cell here or wait till you get 10 posts and we could talk.
