3 good pcp OR 1 very good pcp

Right now? I would tell myself I should have saved my money and bought 1 good, high-end rifle. But I would be wrong. I have a dozen or more PCPs that I never shoot. And may never shoot again. But the modding , learning, testing and hunting with them was priceless. And they each have their place. How do you, or would you know that you had the right one from some one else’s opinion. They might not use it for hunting, or paper punching, or field target, or pesting like you might. Sure, you can get some good insite off the net. But unless you get hands on experience with several different ones, you will never know if you ended up with that ONE .

If you are doing most of your shooting outside at moderate ranges of less than say 75 yards then having one higher end rifle set-up at moderate to high power would be the best in my opinion. If you want to be able to shoot inside barns too buy a rifle that has an adjustable hammer and power wheel and you can set it up for inside barn shooting. I have my general pesting rifle with the scope turret marked on two levels, one for low power wheel setting and one for the high. That way I can make the switch from inside to outside with a few clicks on the scope turret and power wheel. You need to realize though that you can only vary your power level within a certain range even if you rifle is capable of more power. As said if you limit your shooting to moderate distances then using on rifle is possible. Bill

Was able to get an .17 Air Arms Ultimate Sporter, .22 and .25 Gladius for $1685 including a Hawke Sidewinder 8-32 and Osprey 6-24 scopes.
All used rifles but gives me a variety at a price I could afford.

The Gladius is a great gun - adjustable power; it is very heavy, but has interchangeable air tubes - that's good because I have two tubes and one has developed a slow leak which I need to fix; still in business!

Thanks so much for all the great advices , I’m still right back where I’ve started 😁, of course I guess which ever option comes out with a better deals will work for me .

I’ve been looking at the wild cat mk 3 and it’s sniper version , which are way more power then I would even need , but the built Quality is topnotch.

again thanks, and I will keep reading these inputs .

Meh

It also might be a good idea to look at the classified section on here. There are many great guns here. I have a Taipan veteran long .22 I bought for TalonTunes. I also got a FX Maverick from him I am waiting on. I bought a used FX Wildcat MK1 .22 from the classifieds. It is really fun to shoot.

Needless to say, any way you go, you probably will not stop at just one gun.

Meh

Meh?
To each their own. I like my MK3

I wouldn't do either.

I would suggest one less expensive gun and load up on the support stuff to really enjoy that gun. A huge variety of pellets so you can be sure to find what it likes best and stock up on those. And a good size tank with good fittings. Any parts known to need replacement from time to time. O-rings etc.

Nothing is more frustrating than:

Running out of air

Not being able to shoot because I have to wait for an o-ring

Chasing flyers with pellets the gun does not shoot well

Besides, once you get all of this done and shoot for a while you will have a much better idea of what you actually want and how deep you are willing to go in this hobby.

Actually, I have to agree with this although it may not seem correct to those who have gone through it and have come out the other end with a differing view.

NOTHING shapes your opinion better than experience and that experience is different for everyone. Even if the same things happened to 2 different people, the experience would be different for each individual and the conclusions drawn would also be different. Both of them valid, no doubt, but different.

Beside the fact that buying one expensive gun is no guarantee that it will shoot well or be problem free. And yet, if it is a lemon, you are out a LOT more money.

I wish price actually DID dictate the quality of the experience, but it doesn't.

Decide what you really want... and THAT is the really hard part. Then look for those qualities in a lower priced gun. Buy that gun. Use that gun and you will eventually find out what you REALLY want.

It is the same for almost everything in life.

Without a doubt i would buy one really decent PCP over.three. $500 pcps .,..remember then you have to deck them out. Good case ,.bipod. Picatiny rail. .maybe a scope level and the all important glass. Just the add ons will cost you $200 a piece. Just for the cheapies ..and switching them back and forth is no fun at all ..not. Sure what you want so I would look at the wildcat or new airmaks kratan from Krale then go from there. You won't go wrong with the wildcat. HYNZIE 4S
