FX .30 cal Air Rifle Uses

You can hate it if you want but if its legal and it works i dont see the issue. Headshots are more ethical than heart shots anyway. People will shoot a deer with a 30-06 to the heart and have the deer run a quarter mile before it dies and call it ethical. If a shot misses with a 30cal slug off a pcp the deer has a better chance at survival. With a 30-06 or 50cal they probably won't survive even if you dont hit vitals and you probably wont find it either. Seems like the more responsible thing to do is hit your mark not pick your caliber. Id take an accurate 22lr over an inaccurate railgun shooting a .50cal bullet any day if you want to talk calibers.
So you think it’s more ethical to try to hit a 2” kill zone than a 8” kill zone? And then try to do it with a pokey PCP rather than a 30-06? Does Texas require a hunter education course before you can get a license? If they do, I hope they’re not teaching headshots with the most lame thing you can legally hunt with.

All I know is Im happy this sentiment is rare in the hunting community. Im from California and can tell you this attitude contributes heavily to banning our toys. We arent comparing a 243 to a 300wm, what you are proposing almost has me speechless.

Absolutely, unless you've reached a certain age. Then there's an exception.

Lol yea were the problem. Thats why its legal in Texas but not in California. Im surprised yall are allowed to wear shoes with shoelaces at this point. Yall ban everything cause it hurts your feelings and say its for safety. You do your thing ill keep doing mine.

Ok well I guess this issue is making more sense now. Some people just have a complex, so you wont mind if I stop reading your "contributions" to the forum.

Well, you're asking about .30cal airgun uses (or reasons for this caliber in an airgun).

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned in this form:
Glory kills

In computer shooting games there are spectacular kills of your opponent (monster, or other). They are called "glory kills."
And this translates to airgunning — particularly when hunting pest animals.

Spectacular kills depend on
➧ impact velocity/ power,
➧ type of proyectile (large meplat, hollow point), and
caliber (large rather than small hole(s)).

And if you use a scope cam you will notice, quite likely, the spectacular difference between hitting a starling
● with a .177cal dome from a sub-12FPE gun —
and
● hitting it with a .30cal polymag at 90FPE.

🔸 The answer to your question:
.30cal can be for glory kills on pests.

That post spoke volumes about your actual experience level. Been hunting big game for 53 years. High powered rifles, archery and black powder. Taken both deer and elk with all three and you know more than anyone I have ever met.

This is what happens when iknowwhatimdoing argues with idontknowwhatimdoing. There are a lot of things in life that are legal but still not a good idea. I think it’s legal to light my nutsack on fire, you do your thing and I’ll do mine.😉
