.30 Cal Dilemma

A sweet looking impact 2 sitting in classifieds for $950 . Just saying.

I have a .22 Gamo magnum, .22 pcp avenger and .22 impaxt M4. I want to step up to a .30 pcp. If I buy an fx barell kit, mag, and moderator I am looking at over $600. Should I buy that or get a cheper .30 like a hastan blitz for $799.
@morales469 I don’t know much about Hatsans. As for .30s, have you considered looking into a Kral? They seem affordable and @thammer is very knowledgeable about Krals. Or maybe an Umarex Gauntlet 2. They’re heavy though.

There is also the

Umarex Gauntlet SL30
Long, heavy, punches hard, $400 New

Hatsan Hercules Bully
Bullpup, heavy, punches harder, $650 New

I'd take the Bully over the Blitz, many fewer moving parts.

I have a G30 Gauntlet, reliable, accurate but by far my longest rifle. Especially with a big .30 cal moderator.

if you could ever find one for sale the incredible FX Bobcat, Boss or Royale.

If I were going to get a blitz I’d get it in .22. A blitz is the kind of gun that you’re going to want to rock and roll with and .30 is much more expensive and uses much more air.

I’d get something more accurate and more powerful in .30. The Uragan 3 is a gun I’ve got my eye on.
We have hit one of those airgun "HUH?" points for me.

Yes, .30 pellets cost more than .22. But a single shot Uragan 3 costs a lot more than an automatic Blitz.

Blitz in 0.30: 700
Uragan 3 in 0.22: $2000

.30 pellets: $0.15 ea
.22 pellets: $0.05 ea

$1300*0.1 = 13,000

You would need to fire 13,000 pellets before the cost differential of the guns equalized. And that is only if you buy a .22 Uragan 3.
