.30 Cal Dilemma

Would NOT recommend a HATSAN .... there track record has shown the brands weakness's
The Hatsan haters have arrived.

Any data from say the last 18 months to support that?

4 Hatsan Semiauto:

If got a bullmaster down but that's looks like i beat the poppet valve into submission.

Got a Barrage I've put at least 2000 rounds through with maybe 1 round in 40 or 50 failing to index.

My invader I broke and didn't want to pay Hatsan to fix it, so it just works fine as a bolt action

My Sortie seems perfect other than you can't put a moderator on it and have it cycle.

4 Hatsans, 2 .22, 2 25. All worked fine, one down for normal wear and tear. One we won't mention how the idjit broke it and 2 that just keep pumping rounds down range.

Oh I keep hearing how *lucky* i am, but I have a different thought, maybe Hatsan has improved their quality and quality control while you all were not paying them any attention.

Morales,
Not a "barrel switcher" myself plus trying another caliber is always a great excuse for another gun. You've traveled a familiar path, inexpensive break-barrel, Chinese "starter" PCP, then top shelf FX. Same here, did find, however, dropping back to "starter" PCP was always disappointing after FX, Taipan and AGT. Uragan 2 has experienced price cuts due to introduction of Uragan 3, check out Talon Airguns and Krale (Netherlands) for deals. Best of Luck, WM

I'm not a Hatsan hater. That's what I started out with & learned on for the1st couple years (AT44, two BT65's). They served me well. However when I got my 1st "quality" gun I was flabbergasted by the difference in looks, feel & function. There's just no comparison imho but I'd never discourage anyone from them based on Brand. Particular PLATFORM, maybe but not BRAND. Nowadays though there are others in the "economy" price range that have better build quality.

Even though my FX Boss (.30) is my favorite & most used gun IF I could only keep one it would probably be my .25 Royale. Quieter, cheaper ammo, more terminal power than my .22 & almost as much power as my .30. Have you given .25 any thoughts?
I dont want to get a .25 and then regret it and still want to get a .30. Figured jump strainght to .30. If I want to plink or get alot of shots Ill just use my .22. If i need more power for bigger critters Ill swap to tye .30.

Since we have similar paths does that mean you also upgraded to a .30 starter pcp, then got a .30 top shelf?

I guess it depends exactly on what you want to do with the .30? If bench rest 100 yard it seems pretty popular in pellet shooting competitions for sure. For hunting ? I don’t know. To me the area the .30 covers that a .25 won’t is pretty small and the .30 is a lot more expensive. I wouldn’t (can’t legally) deer hunt with a .30 so maybe hogs ? Can’t think of a lot heavy .25 ammo wouldn’t really accomplish that .30 can ? I was in the boat too and now I own both and don’t shoot .30 very much at all. Shoot .25 all the time.

I understand. I got my .30 about 7 months after I got my .25 & I was immediately HOOKED! I mainly hunt so my output of pellets is low compared to someone who competes & practices a lot. I love my .22 & .25 but my Boss .30 is my "go-to".

Who said HATSAN hater ?
Lol ... it was post #24 member who is making stuff up to defend owning some .... Dude get some thick skin on !!!
I too have owned numerous of the brand, great platforms to screw around with and learn a bit of relativity to what other manufactures are producing and selling ... yes really :giggle:

Stating not recommended is no different than your typical FORD or CHEVY etc ... voiced opinions.

As you were enjoying your Air guns :giggle:(y)

First, was Crosman F4 .177 break-barrel, then Benjamin Trail NP XL .22 break-barrel. First PCP was Chinese "starter," Umarex Gauntlet .25, next was FX Wildcat MK3 Sniper .30, followed by FX M3 Sniper .25. Bought the "twins" (pictured) end of 2022, start of 2023, both 700mm .30. WM

Yes, for 3-4 times the cost it should be all those things. Some people don't have the money for an FX or AGT, some of us are just cheap bastiges and won't spend that on a pellet gun.

is there room for improvement in hatsan guns, of course, but those cost money. Where they sit they offer a lot of gun for their price. Bullmaster is $429 this week. Find me another semiauto at 3 times that price.

But the haters are working from old information. No amount of current empirical data will ever change their minds.

You mean #24,
Cmon down to Oakland and you can shoot them. Nothing made up, just current empirical data.

But why would you call me a liar? I told you specific problems with my guns, was that made up too? I even asked for any information from the last 18 months that was contrary.

The SPA M60B also comes in 30, and even 35. Airgun, Archery, Fun has been waiting on a shipment for several months now. Without modifications it would not be a real powerful 30 but I watched a video today where a guy got 880fps or so on 44.8 grain NSA slugs at 125 bar and as much as 1000 fps with the reg maxed out. There are even modifications to use a 1.1l bottle. The Umarex Zellos is very strongly related but only comes in 22 and 25 and not with a bottle but a SPA bottle kit fits them.
