N/A 30 cal options

Looking down the road for 30 cal pellet and 30 cal slug guns. Not a fan of FX, Daystate- electronic, skout- electronic, I know that’s a lot right there. But, for pellets, a non bullpup design appeals and pellets allows for using a shorter barrel to help with OAL. Since its purpose is pellets only, cost is there too. One that cropped up was macavity arms, but, is there any chance that model gun would be fairly close to tier 1 equipment? If it feels like a few others in its price range, no names,, then I’d have no interest. Most of my preferred options are in 2 grand range. For slugs, power, smooth, and relatively quiet is the game. Epic 2,RTI Mora, kalibrgun snipe 2,etc maybe I wait for Shot show or IWA.

Vulcan 3 .30 with tube set to work as air instead of a plenum. It will be a quieter gun with a lot of air like 615cc, 480cc bottle plus 125cc tube.

I found the Vulcan 3 rather pingy when I shot it. It’s a good solid gun, not as refined as I would like for its price. I really wished taipan made a 30 cal.

Well the mccavity is a budget gun and will perform as others in its price range. It is accurate but, everything else will be budget performance. The Rti is a bullpup. The Snipe is just plain ugly, but better than the first one for sure, but does performe well. The Epic guns are excellent, a bit heavy but also robust, probably the best option beyond FX or daystate.

Actually, what do you consider to be compact? I feel like we will have different definitions for this.

The mccavity would be a good option as long as you don't want to use a bipod for it as the stock it made of rubber and is extremely flimsy. The snipe is nowhere near compact 😂. Buy I agree with the suggestions.

I am not a fan of the barrel RTI uses in .30. Just wasn’t impressed. Wound up putting a FX liner system or what they call a barrel in my gun for a while. When RTI offers a RPB in .30, I’ll definitely try it.
What barrel is used on .30 mora? I’ve been looking but can’t find out. It’s one of my candidates for next purchase.

? Seems to be communication issue here, I never mentioned it needed to be a compact. All I said was since this platform is solely pellets, I could get a more traditional rifle with a shorter barrel and keep OAL in check.

By how RTI has treated a buddy on his MORA i would not advise any of those. His .35 clipped from day one. He was offerred a .30 replacement and never received it. The communication was absent as well, to only return a message months later saying that said barrel was not available. So then stuck with a $2200 paper weight. I know I would not do it,if you are a gamblimg man, rock on. I feel out of the options listed the Snipe 2 or Epic 2 would be the best contenders for what you want. Once you go first class, it is very hard to go back. Anything under $1k is going to need a few hours of experiences polishing of internals and spring work, possibly Huma upgrades as well.

My apologies I definitely misread. In that case, I would definitely recommend they G2 .30, and get a chassis for it. This is my current setup with a 500cc bottle and the barrel cut to 20" from 28" OAL w/o a mod is about 39". Trigger isn't the best so I added a 2 stage hajimoto trigger which makes it so much better. But from the get go it would stack pellets.

Three excellent .30 pellet shooters in my stable, RAW, Kalibr TacII and EDgun R5. The only slug gun I have is a .30 Uragan 2, it does very well with Zan 49gr. Meet me at the range one day, you’re welcome to try them all.
ZAN's .30 slug assortment helped narrow preference of V3 and U2 (700mm) sluggers. 54 and 59 grain were tops, mainly 59. Various manufacturer offerings in 59-61.5 grain have done well, U2, with balanced valve technology, is less ammo (pellet/slug) fussy. WM
