This is a great package. Topped with an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 FFP on 34mm Eagle 
Vision rings. Finished off with a Trident Moderator w/flip compensator.Â
Pros:Â
1) Power
2) Efficient w/great regulator 3) Very accurate non-choked polygonal profiled barrel. 4) Good Ergos. 5) Built in mag holder.Â
Cons:
1) A bit heavy but I actually prefer that. 2) My .30 mags over-rotated on the first several indexes of a freshly loaded mag. I assume this could only be an issue with the .30 as the heavy pellets create a lot of rotating mass when indexed quickly.
As mentioned, very accurate, feel good PCP. I’ve been shooting the 50.15gr JSBs. It likes these well. I haven’t tried the 44.75s as of yet but have some on the way. I would bet, with all the power on tap & a non-choked barrel, that this Cricket would like slugs. This Cricket has a large plenum and makes power rather effortlessly. My reg is set to 117 bar. I could see this .30 being able to hit 100 FPE with the proper adjustments should one desire that power.
Shooting fully supported from a bench is a bit challenging from the rear. The smallish rear stock doesn’t leave much room for a squeeze bag. I’ve overcome this with a cylindrical shaped Wiebad bag ~ Cube.
Offhand, on the move partial supported or from bipod with no rear support, is where, I find, this Cricket shines. I believe it will be very good at the Extreme FT game or NLR-22 type shooting.
I modified the mags a bit to remedy the over-rotation I was experiencing from a loaded up mag. With (10) 50.15gr pellets creating quite a bit of rotating momentum, I found that the mag would overrated until 3-4 pellets were shot. I buffed in a ramp so that the detent ball head, which locks the mag into each of the 10 proper load positions, could more easily move from the detent. Now it ramps smoothly from the detent rather than snapping from it, It remedied the over-rotation issue and softened the cycling a lot.
The Cronus is an outstanding scope; best scope I’ve used yet. The Eagle Vision adjustable rings are very good.
The Trident moderator does well to knock the bark down and the flip compensator feature is effective. It’s also nice looking with a great shape, nice features and a deep durable finish.
