30 minute SCBA tank

Can someone give a little information. Bought an Avenger. About how many fills can I get from a 30 minute 4500 psi SCBA tank?

alot depends on how you fill it to, tank initial fill pressure, how often you fill iow how far you go down and fill to, how much air you lose everytime, caliber, power level, etc .. id guess 20-30 times then you could tether off it awhile longer when its below the gun fill pressure limit ..

I knew that there were lots of variables. I’ll probably only fill the tank to about 4000 -4200 psi, and only fill my Avenger to 4000psi max. Probably regulate the Avenger to about 1900psi. Does this help any ?

Really depends on what you consider a fill. This such a subjective question. As long as you fill the gun above reg pressure you will get good regulated shots. More of a question of how many shots will you get from it…….a lot.

I was of course looking for generalities. It has to do with what tank I’m going to purcchase. If a 30 min tank will only fill my gun 2 or 3 times, I’m going to get a larger tank. If the 30 minute tank will fill it to 4000 psi from about 1800 psi about 10 times, then I’m going to purchase the 30 minute tank. Hope this helps clear up the purpose of my question. It’s about choosing which tank to buy.

FWIW,

I have several 66 cubic foot ( :45 duration) SCBA surplus firefighter tanks. They are still legal in manufacturers date and recert date. A reputable shop will not recharge them unless they are. I get about 800 shots out of a fully charged to 4500 PSI bottle on my FX .25 caliber Wildcat.

I got one in 8 days, 50 for valve, I’ve been using it for more than a year. No leaks as of yet

My calculator for pcp fills attached, you won't get many fills to 4k from 1,500 psi with only 4200 psi in the tank

As you reach 4k in the tank, you'll have to fill around 113~ psi less each fill after the first 1~, and then a partial fill after...and for each fill after that, you'll be able to fill to 3900, 3800, 3700, ect...

With a lower fill pressure, say from 1500 to 3200...

and with a bigger tank...
