FX .30 Panthera Hunter Compact SLUG TUNE! +150 yard shooting (Video inside)

Here is a brief follow up on yesterday's video. I found that the Hybrid slugs have a way lower BC than Strelok's figure of .102, probably because they do not have a good sectional density like normal slugs. It seems like it is more like .07 - .08. On top of that my FX Chrony (gen 1) was reading 10-15fps high, which also caused my shots to hit lower than expected in yesterday's video - so I thought I'd give it another go at 150 yards with my corrected trajectory. Note that it is super windy and cold, way less than ideal shooting conditions. In any case, I really believe in this little platform and I think it will make a fine coyote slaying gun this winter. More to come on this for sure.

Thanks for your nice comment. Now, what I'm going for here would be much easier with a 500mm(+) barrel but I want major power in a compact setup and the PHC is as compact as it gets for a Panthera.
I'll continue to put out more content on it. I think I'm gonna get a slug probe for it, too, and see if can squeeze a bit more out of it. Honestly right now, though, it's gonna work as a coyote gun. If I'm slapping a 4" plate at 150 most the time - that's a dead coyote anywhere in between.

Gotta love those short barrel guns, this is what makes the Panthera a standout for me; relatively long range in a short barrel. Again, so glad to see you doing the work.

Any news on the pin probe????

No I havent made an order with Huma yet. Eventually I will. Gun is shooting super nicely right at 90ft/lb though!
I'm just about to install the Huma hammer, (same as yours) & the pin probe......but im a little hesitant in regards to the pin probe. As I also plan to still occasionally use pellets as well as the FX Hybrids. So I question if the pin probe wouldn't seat the pellets deep enough past the transfer port, due to the depth of the pellet skirts. Obviously, the FX Hybrids would be fine with the pin probe with their flat base.
Do you have any thoughts??

In my experience with the Maverick, the Huma pin probe stuck out a little past the breach so you'd have to pull the cocking lever back against the spring a little to get the mag in. This means that the little extra length likely pushes pellets into the breach just fine. You'll have to try it to find out. Normally pellets are always fine with slug probes in my experience.
