30-Yard Challenge

It’s built from used 2x4s. The vertical legs are doubled. It’s all screwed together with exterior deck screws and exterior wood glue. We shoot from concrete benches at our local range but my home made wood bench is just as stable. I used composite deck boards on the top.

Tom where will you have this? On concrete? On dirt, grass? I thought about using pipe with wood top at one time. Maybe a 3 legs for dirt or uneven ground. It need some spars to prevent movement.

But as it is I have way too many projects.

That looks nice! And having the Composite boards on top is a really neat idea.

It would be on dirt, so a three leg design is probably best.

AA S510 XS Ultra in .22 shooting JSB 18.13gr @ 875fps. 210 down to 175 bar. Calm, beautiful day here in the PACNORWEST!

Thanks, Tim. We don't need any snow here, spring is waaaay overdue. 

1st time trying the challenge; super fun. Since the weather is so nice (today, LoL), thought I'd have a go at it. Will be doing more.

I've still got the Daystate Wolverine HP-R .22 cal I got from you. Lovin' it!

Got the Ol' Daystate out today & shot two cards; wind was 5-9 mph, but the heavy 25.39 gr. JSB RDs didn't mind too much. Great gun!

Never had a Wolverine or an AA S510; but both are known for high quality and great accuracy here on AGN. 5-9 mph wind can really move those pellets around too. Looks like wind was blowing from right to left but you managed your holds well and posted some good scores RK!

Just for kicks I tried the .25 Vet Long this week, but it also was windy and half way through my card I decided to just make it my ‘sighter’ card. It sure does make big holes with the 33g JSB MK2 pellets, but I couldn’t get consistent scoring near the small “10” ring.

For tommyb: You guessed right on the R-L wind; you can see by Card 1 that even at 30 yds, it was still able to move that heavy pellet around a bit. Card 2 reflects adjustment/correction (more lucky guesses, lol).

Found time this afternoon to shoot 3 more cards with my RAW .22. Pretty decent cards but I’m still chasing Joe’s X count though. He’s set the bar pretty high.

Allen what pellets did you use to get the 195 score?.

Tony, I want to say the 18 gr JSBs. For me I think right now with the reg the way it is, it shoots the most consistent around 225 bar with the 18 gr JSBs to about 190 bar. At the higher bar fill it seems to shoot the 25gr better until a certain point.
