30-Yard Challenge

"Hello, my name is RK, and I have a problem......" LoL I am very blessed and quite fortunate to have gathered a fine lot of air rifles. Each one is a joy to shoot, plus, they keep me off the streets and out of trouble. This AGN community is a blessing as well, with so many knowledgeable and helpful members. Glad to be a part of the team! Thanks to all.

.25 FX Impact M3. Still getting it dialed in, but not too far off the right setup. JSB 25.39 @ 890.

Tim,

This challenge is tough! I figured I could pull out the Impact & just waltz my way to 200...Hahaha. Yep, I've got to order me up a serious batch of those elusive XXs and get with the program.

I started out shooting the 33.95 JSB @ 945 with macro wheel on 16 (max); shootin' 191, 192, 192...ehhhh, so I turned down the macro wheel to 8 (mid) and changed over to the 25.39 @ 890 and it looked promising, so I shot a couple of cards. Shot a 192 then the 193... Conclusion: This shooter needs practice!!

As far as the green laminate furniture, thanks; it spruced up the Ol' M3 quite nicely.

Have a nice weekend!

Finally, a wind-free day - practically!

Shot three cards today with the RAW; a clean barrel to start with, and also did some chrono work first to try and see how it would do with slightly more velocity. Here are three 5-shot groups at 50 yards, all under or around a half-inch. I took out my Caliper to make sure. First group on left, I thought I was actually going to get five in one hole which would be a first, but I knew it was coming..... First three shots were in on hole, then two more outside. :)

Great shooting, tommyb! Thanks for including your speeds. That is interesting data. There are so many comments that pellets shoot most accurately at 850-890fps. Yours are flying really great at 940fps.

Thanks Tom.

For both my RAW and Daystate Safari .22 HP rifles shooting the JSB 25g MRDs, they do require faster velocity than 850-890 FPS to shoot accurately. I.e., 940 for the RAW and 970 for the Safari.

There are many standard .22 PCPs that do very well at 870-900 FPS range, in terms of accuracy with the popular JSB 18.1 pellet In my case the FX Royale 400 and HW100 standard .22 cals come immediately to mind.
