30-Yard Challenge

Old Crow

First - good shooting! Is that a Springer?

Second - Mike N will send you some scoring plugs, but I had you at 184 approximately. Mike does this much more often, so I defer to him. Regardless, good score!

Third - Move the target up, and shoot a ‘200!’

JK - Enjoy the fun.

Edits - I see that it is a Springer. I missed your narrative on the card originally. I wish I could shoot my Diana 34 like that!

Score -The pics made some of the scores look lower, and the holes appeared to not touch the lines. I relooked at it again and defer to the software at 187. 😃

Hello everyone,

Shot four targets this morning with my best Score of 196, with 9x’s with the .177 Crown MK II, and using JSB Exact Monster 13.43gr pellets. This is two points lower than my best score to date and I hate backing up, but I am still pleased with the consistency that I am shooting this rifle now. My other three target scores were 191, 189 and another 191. I don’t know if humidity plays any role in accuracy but it was so humid this morning that the paper targets felt wet when removing them from the station. Good ole Deep East Texas weather :)

Bye the way, a big thank you to Tom @tcarlson777 for starting this challenge here on the Forum.

Be safe and have a great day,
ThomasT

Thank you sir. Really I wasn't contesting my score as I was the one who set it in the first place. It was more about learning how scoring works. I just need to go back over the thread and read it all rather than being lazy and asking someone else to do it for me.

Yes sir! Those D430s just shoot. I have two of them. That is the unturned one! I have the other visiting John in PA. I can not wait to see what he does with it!

Best wishes.

Well hopefully I posted this correctly, I’m hoping it’s a new post in the 30 yard challenge thread. Sorry if it’s in the wrong place I’m not familiar with the new format yet.
Anyway it’s my first try at the challenge using my .177 RedWolf and the JSB Beast 16.20 pellet on mid range power. It was right out of the box this accurate, and all I’ve ever done is clean the barrel.
Can someone tell me how to join the challenge? Sorry if it’s really obvious…but obviously I’m kinda slow lol!
Oh and hopefully I scored it right.

Nice shooting, Dave! You are now part of our group. A couple of the 9s look very close to a 10. Most of us hold a pellet skirt down centered on the hole and if it touches the gray 10 ring it’s a 10. If it touches the center black dot it is a 10x. If you completely shoot the black dot out, we score that a 10xx, and use those as tie breakers. We don’t have any formal events. We are all just shooting cards trying to improve our best scores. That is a really good score for a new rifle.

Nice job Dave!

I was babysitting the two Granddaughters last week in D.C. Could not wait to get out this week and try my luck. I was the only one shooting early this morning at my normal 50/100 yard sight-in range.

Had the FX Boss .25 cal with me and MK2 and MK1 33g pellets on the bench. I switched scopes and took off the Athlon Argos BTR FFP and replaced with the Vortex Diamondback 6-24X50 FFP. Made a big difference because the reticle was considerably thinner, and did not bury the ten ring like the thicker reticle on the Athlon. Love Athlon scopes, just the BTR reticle is too thick for me.

The wind was light and it was a good date/time to shoot.

Shot two cards, both 200's --- finally!

Thanks guys, it’s a lot of fun and I’m definitely hooked on shooting paper.
It was dead calm when I shot the card.
This is a great challenge.
Dave, if you can, re-score your cards with a .224" scoring plug or maybe a .22 LR round. I think you were closer to 199, maybe even 200. I can't tell for certain, but you are definitely higher than 196!
