The challenge is fun and informative but scoring is confusing. Do you not have to break say the nine ring outer edge in order to score the nine or not. Thanks!

It is fun. My understanding is you have to break the ring to get that score. I have seen some pretty generous scoring on that thread but it's all in good fun.

Basically, we use a .22 scoring plug. If the plug touches the edge of a ring, say the 9-ring, then that shot scores a 9.
We use the .22 scoring plug regardless if shooting .177 or .22.
