Hey Guys, it's been a few weeks but I'm back in the PCP game (after air gun shooting was outlawed at the 5 acre farm I live at). My Yong Heng compressor really came in handy this last week. I drove 1 hour away, and hiked 500 yards into the woods, to the air gun range 5 days in a row. I was able to fill my 45 minute PCP tank each day so I didn't get stuck in the forest with low air.

Here is a video with all you need to know about the high quality and affordable Yong Heng PCP Compressor

Here is a video with all you need to know about the high quality and affordable Yong Heng PCP Compressor:

Owning, and having disassembled, a Yong Heng compressor I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that it is anything but high quality. Electronic components are mounted without any mitigation for the severe vibration they'll endure. Internal components are in a similar state, designed to run long enough to get you out of the chargeback/warranty/return period, but probably not that much longer.

At this point my YH compressor's electronics are flat out dead, so I replaced those. Then it ate a reed valve, which I discovered was improperly heat treated. In the process I also discovered it was sold with the second stage misaligned which ate into the bottom of the piston. And finally, of course, the second stage piston ring was going and needed repair.

All in all it is a compressor that, if you buy, you should do so because it is cheap and you have the capability to repair it yourself or plan to simply throw it away after a couple months.

I have a Yong Heng and it runs every couple weeks to top off my guppy (2500psi to 4500 psi) and its been 2yrs running well. Only maintenance is oil changes and i replaced the burst disks twice. What you need to look out for is clones of the Yong Heng, and it should have Yong Heng on the side as in the video. The clones are known to have issues. Crazy to know they create clones of clones.

I disagree, for $300 vs $1200, for a product that does the same thing. Mine works, does what it should and I know alot of other people have had the same result.

for $300 it is high quality...if it doesn't break, then it's high quality. If your going to compare it to a $2000 Air Venturi then of course it won't be as nice. Don't buy a generic Yong Heng...I know those are bad news.

Also, thank you for the valuable technical info. That may come in handy if a Yong Heng does break! -Nate

I have one and used it for the last year and a half or so, I would call it adequate quality. Missing some foresight like STO mentioned but all in all I would consider it a great buy, it's lasted longer than I thought it would. And hopefully forcing the higher end prices down a bit, if that happens we all win. If I was loaded I would probably buy something else but as I'm not the YH is killing it!!!!

I do have one for almost a year now, use it every week for 30 min, keep it cool, and bleed moisture every 5 minutes (manually), Change oil once a month, and it works good so far, no complains. I have even won BR competitions with "YongHeng smelly air" :D... For a "starting at" compressor, it delivers...and if it fails (probably will, but I have made arround50 charges @ 10 dollars a charge more or less, that is US$500...damn is paid and I am having profits now!)... heck I will get another one, the same or newer model.

I've been using my Yong Heng for 6 months now. I only put hydraulic oil in it the first run and found out how much hydraulic oil stinks.

Switched to royal purple after that and no more stink. I have the version where you set the pressure you want it to cut off. Purchased on Amazon for $298.

I use an Alpha filter from Joe Brancato. When you're done filling you open the bleed valve at the filter base and it blows all the water out.

Thanks, very interesting and no argument from me as any knowledge gained is good. One would think that they could not afford to recommend petroleum motor oil if there was any danger of explosion from the petroleum based lubricant. My experience goes back to the 80's when I had high pressure oxygen cylinders in my office. Lots of warnings and labels about never getting petroleum based lubricants on those connections due to risk of explosion.
