$300 Yong Heng PCP Compressor Review, Testing, Setup, Moisture Filters

Thanks, very interesting and no argument from me as any knowledge gained is good. One would think that they could not afford to recommend petroleum motor oil if there was any danger of explosion from the petroleum based lubricant. My experience goes back to the 80's when I had high pressure oxygen cylinders in my office. Lots of warnings and labels about never getting petroleum based lubricants on those connections due to risk of explosion.

Oxygen is a complete different game! oxygen even at low levels, lower the ignite temperature point of many things (flammable things). Anyway, I have change my mind and I will not use 5w30 or 40, I found here this one here in Chile, I belive is good for compressors like YH, SHELL CORENA P-100 http://tdc.ge/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/5_Corena_S4_P_100.pdf looks similar to Royal Purple. Feedback appreciated!

Here is a video with all you need to know about the high quality and affordable Yong Heng PCP Compressor:

Owning, and having disassembled, a Yong Heng compressor I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that it is anything but high quality. Electronic components are mounted without any mitigation for the severe vibration they'll endure. Internal components are in a similar state, designed to run long enough to get you out of the chargeback/warranty/return period, but probably not that much longer.

At this point my YH compressor's electronics are flat out dead, so I replaced those. Then it ate a reed valve, which I discovered was improperly heat treated. In the process I also discovered it was sold with the second stage misaligned which ate into the bottom of the piston. And finally, of course, the second stage piston ring was going and needed repair.

All in all it is a compressor that, if you buy, you should do so because it is cheap and you have the capability to repair it yourself or plan to simply throw it away after a couple months.

Did you take any photos of the tear down, I would like to see the innerds of it. Having taken the top (blue cover) off of mine to peak around I did not really see any internal components to the thing, power switch, and the temp....but I did not take it past that, perhaps they are deeper on on the ones with the auto shutoff that I do not have.

Still would like to see photos of your compressor.
